What a bizarre mix of experiences we had here. The owners and their immediate family were outstanding in their welcome and attention to detail. Nothing, for them personally, was too much trouble. How strange that none of this had rubbed off, or even understood, by any of the staff. No one actually said " sod-off and get it yourself" to...

Stayed for one night as part of a cycle tour. Rooms are very small as expected in an old hotel, but it oozes charm and ambience. Comfortable bed, good bathroom facilities. Restaurant served a lovely meal and the wine was excellent. Breakfast is buffet and also good. The local square has a couple of bars with nice views to enjoy...

We had a lovely stay at this hotel, friendly staff, excellent facilities and very good breakfast, one of the best of our tour of France. The swimming pool was clean and inviting. We stayed in one of the superior rooms, which was located across the lane. Couldn't ask for a better room. It has its own little covered terrace, lounge,...

The hotel is nice and the staff friendly. The breakfast is nice as well. The rooms are decent and modestly furnished. The value of the place is very good. In addition the restaurant serves very nice food. I would recommend staying at this hotel when one is in the region of Duras.

We stayed here for four days whilst we enjoyed the hospitality and vendange at a local vineyard (Domaine du Grand Mayne). The hotel is clean with all the amenities we needed. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom clean with the towels changed daily. The evening meals were superb, the choice of wines great and the staff friendly. We will be...

8 of us stayed a Saturday night at this out-of-the-way hostelry, in the pretty village of Duras. The rooms are very nicely equipped, and my room on the top floor had a spectacular view over the vineyards. It's a family-run, very traditional hotel - just what I love about France and there are many gems to be found. The off-note...

Arriving at the hotel restaurant which claims to offer "Fine Dining" we were assured that as vegetarians we could be accommodated, however we were soon to discover that having once been seated, served an inch of wine that there would be absolutely no choice of food for us at all. Perhaps something akin to Savory Cheesecake with Beets and Red...

Nice hotel, clean, very helpful with luggage, can buy a range of English newspapers in the town, food in restaurant in evening just wonderful, but breakfast was disappointing: nasty coffee, fruit that was nowhere near ripe, dull bread...we ate in a nearby boulangerie the 2nd day for twice as nice and half the price

We were an extended family checking out a property in the area and this was a lovely place to stay for a couple of nights..... We visited in winter and there was nothing else open nearby but the location and history of this place was lovely......and a great little restaurant, one of our more memorable meals from traveling around the...
