We stayed here for one night in April 2016. The hotel is located in the centre of the town and there is plenty of parking available. The rooms were clean and the bathroom especially was bright and modern. On the downside the breakfast was very poor and there was a great deal of noise from other guests who left early,...

This hotel has had a make over through new owners and I have to say it is a vast improvement with a lovely modern restaurant. We have eaten here twice now one lunch and one dinner, we had excellent service and excellent food the chef is very innovative and creates beautiful dishes, It is nice to have a local restaurant...

Many years ago, my late parents stumbled upon this hotel whilst seeking accommodation, away from the hurly-burly tourist magnet that is Brantome. Then, it was a family run affair having been handed down through the generations; the walls bedecked with sepia photographs of local troops mustering for the Franco-German War in the Square outside. Over the years, the Grand Pelisson...

My wife, two friends, labrador and I were travelling in two cars down to the Dordogne region with the intention of camping for two nights en route. It rained very heavily on the second day of our journey and we were not looking forward to putting up two tents which were wet from the previous night. At the last moment...

Business travel took me to Nontron with my wife and two teenage daughters. We stayed two nights in the Grand Hotel Pelisson in Nontron and found it to be delightful. The English-speaking staff was warm and helpful (they even kept our breakfast out late one morning while we slept in after a late night). The rooms were spacious and freshly...

recently refurbished room, however new bathroom and toilet on old plumbing does not make for a good combination, the shower took ages to drain and the WC was almost overflowing. room was smart and clean, but breakfast was overpriced for coffee out of a push button machine and bread and croissants ( burnt) , would not stay again

This hotel is old style typically French, the staff were very friendly and helpful but unobtrusive. The rooms are more than adequate and clean and we had a nice big room overlooking the square. The breakfast is basic but had everything we needed so I would recommend the hotel for its good location and nice staff.

We have visited the restaurant at the Pelisson ever summer for the past twelve years and found the food and service to be of excellent quality and reasonable value. Visited again this year and ownership has changed and so has the quality. The place looked dull and some long serving staff have left. The menu prices have increased without showing...

This place is "old fashioned French" in the best possible way. It looks like postcard image of an old town centre coaching inn and exudes warmth and comfort. The bedroom was fairly basic but very comfortable with a bright modern bathroom. The restaurant had a lovely atmosphere and the cooking was superb, providing 2 gluttons and a vegetarian with the...
