This is a pleasant, simple hotel on the outskirts of town. The room was clean and basic, with a comfortable bed. The restaurant does several pleasant set menus at fair prices and has pleasant dining areas inside, outside and under cover. Plastic seats outside though - sweaty in the hot weather. If you're wanting breakfast it doesn't start until 7:45!...

This is a funky and rustic hotel. The room was big but very worn and simple. The stairway is narrow and can be a tough climb with your bags. Service is fine but don't expect anything fancy. The restaurant was Ok, nothing special and slow service and very pricey.

We stayed one night at this hotel. We found the man at reception to be pleasant and helpful and he allowed us to look at the room before we accepted. The room was clean and tidy which is all we wanted, and for 56 Euros, it was great value. We also had breakfast there and for 8 Euros was great...

We arrived after a long day of walking the Robert Louis Stevenson Way, and we expected the style and standard Logis the France normally guarantees. Boy were we wrong !!! The owner ? did give us the key to the room (we prebooked accomodation) and directed us to a wonky stairway to the hotel. The room itself was tiny, with...

No outside light at top of stairs. Rooms very basic. You had to be a contortionist to use the toilet in our room it was...

Typical basic French Auberge. comfortable and clean. Stayed for two evenings and ate each evening - the food which is typical of the region is very good. Recommended. There is not much accommodation easily found in St Jean du Gard but you can have confidence in this place. Not 3 star standard but a comfortable base from which to explore...

This hotel is good if you are looking for a reasonably priced option. Fairly basic bedrooms but clean and staff helpful if you need anything. Interesting history as connected to Robert Louis Stevenson and his travels in the Cevennes with a donkey.

I stayed for one night only at the end of my walk of The Stevenson Trail in July 2011. I struggled to find the hotel initially as it was at the wrong end of town for me but for drivers approaching from the opposite direction, it would be the first place seen on the approach to St Jean du Gard....
