Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Very quiet and particularly clean. For people who like a bit of rest after an active day. Beds are large and comfortable. The bathroom is a bit old but very clean. The staff is very friendly. The food is basic but very well displayed and fresh. The restaurant is also nice with a view on the garden. Not very expensive (roughly the same price) compared to the horrible three stars seaside resort we experienced later.

I was very disappointed with this stay. The room was dark, with a very small window, no view, and it was quite noisy, especially with an elevator next door. Beds placed with direct vision to the door, not very relaxing, and the lighting in the room was awful. The beds are on wheels, so they move when you turn in the bed! Bathroom not clean - why is it impossible for hotels to not have black mold in bathrooms?! Towels leaving fluff everywhere. Toilet running. Outlets only working when lights turned on.

We had a select room (a kind of a junior suite) with a bedroom and somehow separated living area. Balcony was small but enough for a table with 2 chairs and a nice view to the well maintained park. The bathroom is functional but needs to be renovated (shower is in the bathtub, this is not any more up to date). The room has a minibar (refrigerator). This is not the case for the small rooms. Everything is very clean and houskeeping is doing a good job. Very friendly staff. The breakfast is excellent with a good variety of food (hot and cold). They offered a variety of eggs made to order, Spanish tortilla, creatively cooked vegetables. Different items every day. The bread variety is is good but not exciting. We were not able to use the pool/ spa (renovation?). This seems to be ongoing for a while. Very good value for money!

This is an education hotel where they train waitors, cooks, recepcionist etc, but this is not a disadvantage, on the contrary. It gives you the impresion that everyone is giving their outmost for you. The hotel is a bit old, but functional. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. Lots of hot water and High pressure. Be aware that it does not have a swimming pool anymore, which is kind of a Down side for the hot days. We had a room with balcony, which had some good views. We had breakfast and dinner here the two nights We stayed and it was good value.

This place was convenient for my work-related trip to Las Palmas. It is School hotel, and I was traveling there during the post-coved time. It is very well located and the building is big and spacious. My room was huge, a suite, well decorated. The bathroom was complete but a bit outdated. The staff was great and very nice. Breakfast was good but, with the restrictions, a bit difficult to enjoy.

On Sunday, Feb. 22, we were supposed to fly out of Las Palmas airport on Gran Canaria. But the Calima caused all flights to be cancelled. We had checked out of our Aguimes lodging. It was full that night. So was almost every other place on the island when it was announced that all flights had been cancelled because of poor visibility. Rather than trying to sleep on the airport floor like thousands of others, we grabbed a cab and headed to a place we thought had an empty room in the town of Santa Brigida. After a hairy cab ride in the dark and haze, we found it was full. They suggested that Hotel Escuela might have a room, so our taxi driver took us there. They too were full, but the very nice desk clerk suggested that we wait around in case there were cancellations. After a few comfortable hours, we scored a room--and it was elegant, spacious and very comfortable. We took advantage of the bar, the excellent restaurant and the terrific breakfast, and caught our rescheduled flight the next day. Thank you Hotel Escuala for saving us on a crazy Canarian night!

Was very satisfied with this hotel. The room was large with a large balcony and was very clean. The staff were always friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good with something different every morning. Great choice from cooked, cereal, yoghurt, meats and cheeses and fruit. The only downside was the lack of vegetarian choices on the evening meals. Had to eat out in the evenings. Also the lovely clean pool ( there was a pool man cleaning it every morning) was not heated so too cold for British softies to swim in.

I ordered a quiet and larger room. When I arrived, no such room could be provided. The rooms shown were small and dark, unfortunately not quiet. I then left without resistance of the reception. Now I get a fee of 72.30 Euros calculated for such a dysfunction. Immediately I have now sent a complaint to management asking for immediate repayment. Such behavior of a hotel school is unbearable.

Not a 4 star hotel. Stayed only 1 night (thankfully!) Lots of the fittings in the room broken and room generally in a poor state of repair including a chipped toilet seat, blocked sink and ants crawling on the floor. My son’s valance had greasy stains on it and bedding was marked with stains. I complained before we left for the afternoon, on our return, nothing had been done. Called down to reception and the same lady I’d spoken to before rudely snapped that she had told me there was no one who could sort it out until the morning (which she definitely hadn’t said) and that she could probably get me some clean linen but I’d have to change the dirty sheets myself! I asked to change rooms so had to repack and move myself and my sleepy 10 year old son, at 10.30pm. The new room was cleaner but still chipped toilet seat, cracked chair, marks on walls and a dangerous broken plug socket. Also a horrendous smell coming from the bathroom and still found a few ants crawling around. I contacted hotel.com customer services after we left who called the hotel and asked them to refund a portion of my payment but the hotel flat out refused. Food wise- I read lots of comments praising the breakfast which was limited in choice and okay at best. We also ate at the hotel the night before (as there was little open in the area.) 1 waiter working in the restaurant who was pretty rude. We were given a set menu with two options for each course and no prices. I had fish as a main course which consisted of a very overcooked piece of fish, some tomato and pea sauce and boiled potatoes with nothing on them. My son’s steak was admittedly pretty good. Desserts were poor all round. The outdoor pool is small and not heated. Honestly, this is a 2 star hotel, 2 1/2 stars at best and for the price we paid, I can only assume there MUST be better in the area! I strongly suggest going elsewhere- I wish we had!!
