Travellers' Choice
The antique farm house Serine of the 1600 has been restored taking care to conserve its original architectural aspect. Serine is surrounded by olives, figs, oleanders, eucalyptuses and pine trees and it is the ideal place to spend quiet and relaxing days with a very welcoming atmosphere. The farm house has 3 floors: on the ground floor 3 two-roomed and 3 double rooms, on the first floor a reception-desk, two dining-rooms, a solarium is on the 2nd floor. At the ground floor in summer any dinner is organised on a paved area surrounding the building, in the enchanting olive-trees and perfumed oleanders. The area is quite windy and shaded, in the green of olive-yards and the blue of the sea on the background.

We only visited for dinner, driving up from Leuca for the evening. The atmosphere is gorgeous, would have loved to see the farm in the daytime. The dining terrace is surrounded by olive trees, there was a cat walking around, idyllic! The service was excellent and the gentleman spoke fluent English. Set menu style is very easy to understand and the food was excellent in taste and quality. Our evening was made by a visit from the 91 year old owner who took the time to speak to us despite us understanding zero Italian and him having very limited English! Make sure you try the homegrown olive oil - its the best I've ever had!

After a short drive from Santa Maria de Leuca you arrive on an idyllic spot with stunning views. The welcome was very friendly and we ordered the lunch menu. Starters were great, several vegetable dishes cooked traditionally. The main dish was grilled meat, pork, chicken and sausage. The pork and chicken were very thinly sliced and grilled. Taste was good but the chicken was raw on the inside, this is an absolute no go. Desert was watermelon and a coffee afterwards. Like I said it was good but far grom perfect.

Spend two nights at Serine, enjoying the silence and the peace. An old mansion, surrounded by olive trees, a short distance from Leuca and the sea. Very nice atmosphere. Good clean rooms, nice hosts and good simple food cooked according to local tradition.

Dear Sanne, we remember 6 very nice ladies coming from Holland, doing yoga in the morning after breakfast, laughing and enjoying themselves at dinner. We are very happy you have spent a nice Holiday at Serine. We look forward to see you very soon. With your bikes. Thanks so much. Fabrizio

You are in the countryside of Leuca and you eat what this region can produce. Not even the region, what the Agriturismo Serine can produce - all I have eaten apart from cheeses is cultivated there. I went for dinner and I have asked for traditional Food from PUGLIA and I got it all. From the Antipasto with melanzane alla parmigiana, fried veg, local selection of cheeses, mozzarella and more to the Orecchiette con cime di rapa, a must if you are in Salento. Food is simple but it's incredibly tasty. If you manage to eat more, you can order an handmade tiramisu'. Have a chat with bubbly and loud young girl serving you and with the elderly man checking every so often if you are happy with your food. Even if they don't speak English follow the gestures and you will get it!

We rode our bikes up out of Leuca to this wonderful agriturismo . Our room had a kitchen/sitting room, bedroom, bathroom and a shaded terrace. We enjoyed some of the wine produced at the farm. Dinner was great with much of the food grown on the farm. The olive oil was excellent. I wish I could have bought some but it was too heavy for the bike. We were close to a supermarket and bought some beer and snacks. Another guest told us about Torre Vado and we went there on our bikes to the beach. The dinners were excellent-fried stuffed zucchini blossoms as an app, pasta with fava or turnip greens as a primi and a secondi of lamb grilled. Breakfasts included home made jams and jam tarts. People were very friendly even with our poor Italian
