Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

As part of our lighthouse walk in Galicia. We were fortunate enough to have a 1 night stay here. Super friendly gentleman on reception. Beautiful room with a bath ! Believe me on a walking holiday this is a must for me. Shower is however also great. A great breakfast spread too

We stayed for one night whilst doing the Camino Dos Faros. The rooms were clean and well designed, the receptionist was extremely helpful, and helped us organise a taxi from the airport. The breakfast was delicious also. Couldn't ask for more from a hotel!

I stayed at this hotel with my family several years ago and was very happy with my stay , good enough to book a second visit on my own for 2 weeks earlier this month I have family that live in Laxe On my 10th night I awoke in the early hours of the morning with a strange smell in the room , so bad that it made me vomit and So bad that I left the room and spent the remainder of the night on a couch in the lounge The person on reception offered me a doctor which I did decline and the Hotel offered me a different room I was told the manager would be available from 10am No manager was available and no one apologised for my experience There was some sort of leakage of gas from the air conditioner Upon checkout I enquired about the whereabouts of the manager but no one available I wrote to the management of the hotel about my experience and Have received a very uncaring response telling me there was nothing wrong with the air conditioning and what else did they expect them to do they changed my room All I really needed was an apology and a bit of concern for my experience which I got neither of Hence my review the management needs some serious training in customer service

We discovered the village of Laxe by accident while driving the coast of Spain in June 2022 after completing the Camino de Santiago. We intended to have a one-night stop, but it was so welcoming and relaxing that we stayed for a week. The manager/concierge Jesus ("Suso") booked us into a second-story room with views of the beach, town and harbor. The room was spacious, with hardwood floors and a spacious marble bathroom. The breakfast buffet included fresh-baked pastries and bread, along with plenty of other good food options. Outside the door of the hotel is a lovely walking path along the beach and town. Suso provided us with above and beyond the call of duty information about outdoor adventures, historical and archaeological sites, and dining. We hope we will return to Spain one day, and certainly will book in at Hotel Playa de Laxe. Special thanks to Suso and staff for turning an overnight stay into a relaxing and amazing week.

I stayed here with a group while walking the Costa de la Muerte hiking trail. The hotel is very clean, modern, the room was large, airy, and had an air conditioning unit that also operated as a heater, if required. The room was beautifully decorated with a large comfortable bed, and a large bathroom, The location is perfect, I had a fantastic sea view, and was the perfect relaxation place after a hard days walking. The hotel was a pleasant place for a pre-dinner drink, which was put on the room tab, however, when I came to pay, the tab hadn't actually been added to, so make sure to either pay when drinking, or remember how many drinks you have had, the same goes for the mini-bar, although replenished daily, no log of what had been taken was kept, very trusting management! The included breakfast was really good with a large variety of breakfast options on offer, including delicious little raisin whirls and refreshing melon.

Hotel is a stop on the Camino de Faros and was an oasis in what was supposed to be an easy day. The staff very welcoming and made sure I had everything I needed. It is located in the center of town less than a block from the beach. The reception person also is lobby bar bartender, which was appreciated on such a hot day.

Laxe is a small fishing village with a few good restaurants and plenty of tapas bars, etc. It is right on a hiking trail that goes along the Galician coast. We were here in mid May and the town was quite quiet. My sense is that things pick up quite a lot a little closer to summer. The hotel is right on the beach, a few minutes walk along a paved promenade from the part of town where there is a cluster of restaurants and bars. The hotel is modern, comfortable and clean. Our room was decent sized and modestly but well furnished. The bathroom was very good. Staff was friendly. If you are going to be staying in Laxe, this place is hard to beat.

The hotel is clean and modern. The location is perfect, right next to the beach. Free public parking is easy to find a few meters from the front door. Breakfast is buffet style and is varied. The staff was friendly and helpful. Shops and restaurants are within easy walking distance. You can walk to the old town and the port in five minutes. There is a boardwalk that follows the beach just a block away.

Laxe is a tiny town on the coast. Pretty beach but water was very cold still. Just average eats. Stayed 3 days. Hotel way great. We had a cornwr room over looking the ocean. Bed was very comfortable and room was quite. Need to seek mediccal attention while there and the staff went above and beyond to help. Easy safe free parking on street.
