We have been staying in this hotel for 10 days. We really enjoyed the food they serve always different and restaurant staff are really cute and friendly people. The rooms were always clean and very nice they do magic from towels it was always surprising us. Special thanks for Baha housekeeping. The hotel also have shops and spa center. They do really good massage and sauna was perfect. Animation team also worked very well. We liked very much stretching and massage after in the beach. We had two excursions it was pretty expensive but we liked.

It was sooo nice, especially the room service and the animation team did a great job too! The food was so tasty and the diving was also beautiful. Nice coral reef in the front of the hotel. Watch out for the fire coral!

The Marina Lodge at Port Ghalib falls into the mid budget conscious category. Multiple levels of all inclusive packages are offered. We stayed with the breakfast and dinner included option. Overall we got what we paid for. Relatively decent accomodations with 2 free bottles of water included on a daily basis within the room. Staff was friendly and helpful. On site dive operator and Spa. Upper and lower pools on the canal along with a dining area on the lower level. The food was o.k., but became very repetitive after a few dinners. Breakfast was the best meal except for not having enough coffee cups and one machine to make coffee for the whole hotel. Be prepared to pay for bottled water, Sodas, and Beer on the similar plan. We had one of our party of seven that booked the all inclusive. The all inclusive had a selection of extremely cheap alcohol and one beer option. Most were horrible according to our friend. Glad we stuck with the basic plan. There is a bar / sitting area above the reception and they usually had to call someone if you wanted service. The bar offerings in here were decent and if we had alcohol or needed bottles water this is where we typically got it from. We knew that alcohol was not up to US standards so we brought most liquor with us from the airport before we flew into Egypt. The SPA owner works the property but the people actually working in the SPA have no formal training. If you want anything beyond a relaxing massage you are out of luck. Four in our party booked a two massage special and we were all disappointed. Be prepared to have a taxi or use the water taxi or walk about 1.5 miles around the canal from this hotel to make it to where the main attractions are for shopping and dining. There are a few shops on property and they will hassle you to come into their shops anytime you walk by. We had several great lunch / dinners over in the main shopping area. With the $2.00 each way for the water taxi. Our only real complaint is that hot water ran out quickly, dinner options were repetitive, and the safe in the room didn't function properly. We got what we paid for, but are staying at a different resort after our week on a diving live a board.

I returned last Friday from a holiday in Marsa Alam and stayed at the Coral Beach Diving Hotel. Apparently, we were the first holidaymakers that Thomas Cook had sent there! Being only 15 mins from the airport its great for those of us who don't like long transfers. The rooms were spacious, clean and well equipped (with a 24 hour english movie channel as well!). We stayed on a half board basis and found the breakfast/dinner buffets really good. Plenty of variety and lots of it! This hotel really is super and i will be booking again very soon. It does not have its own beach, but there are two really great swimming pools/kids pool.

Please be aware however that the resort of Marsa Alam is still an up and coming resort - and most of the other hotels in the area are in the process of being built and there are no bars/restaurants to visit. In fact, there were only 30/35 other guests at the hotel during our stay. Although i did feel as if we were stuck in the middle of nowhere sometimes, the hotel manager organised a free coach to take us to a local beach (20 mins away) which although basic, had toilets/a refreshment stand. The snorkelling from the beach is super, well worth trying if you have never done it before.

We were informed that we could use the beach/facilities at the Coraya Hotel (approx. 20 mins away from our hotel) for free, but when we got there they wanted to charge us 20 euros each! Please bear this in mind when chosing which beach to go to.

During our stay we went to the Dophin House to swim with dolphins. Unfortunately, they must not have liked the look of us and decided not to turn up! This was a bit disappointing, but we spent the day snorkelling off the reef instead, which totally blew my mind and it turned out to be one of the most memorable days i have ever spent in my life! Well worth visiting - Thomas Cook charged $95 (about £57) for this tour and it was excellent value for money and included your snorkelling equipment, all soft drinks and lunch on board the boat.

Another trip you can take is to Al Quseir - a small town about 40 mins drive from the hotel. This tour cost $30 (approx. £17). This was extremley disappointing - the museum contained just two cases of very dusty stuffed animals! You do however get a good glimpse of life in an Egyptian town which is a bit of a shocker for a lancashire lass like me! We did have the opportunity to visit a market and barter for things.

To sum it up - a really good relaxing holiday at one of the best hotels i have ever been to. If you like a good night life though, it might be best waiting another 12 months until the other hotels/bars are up and running.

Decided to go back to The Coral Beach Diving Hotel again, after a great stay in january this year. Booked the trip through Regal Dive again and was happy with them also. Got a very warm reception from all the hotel staff, as they recognised me from before. The building work, outside the hotel is progressing well and the marina is getting bigger. When you stay in the hotel, you will not be affected, at all, by the building work around you or at least hear it. Well I didn't.
This hotel is geared up for scuba divers with Emperor Divers, on site, which is handy. The idea of getting out of bed, strolling into breakfast, then strolling onto the dive boat, all within grabbing distance is very very appealing and was! I noticed that Emperor Divers had two more boats to cope with the demand, well done Phil. Dive guides were very professional, thanks Guy, Vanessa, Mo, Roberto, Roberta and Aladdin.
Also took the Luxor day trip, which is a long day, but well worth it. You get to see El Karnak Temple, The Valley of the Kings, Temple of Hatshepsut, Alabastar Factory and the Papyrus Factory for approx £80.00 (UK pounds).
I will probably return next year when more work has been completed surrounding the hotel, and I also fancy diving Elphinstone again.
Good luck.

This was my second trip to the Coral Beach Diving Hotel and to be perfectly honest its one of the best diving hotels I have stayed in. The staff extend Egyptian hospitality, the hotel is clean, friendly and relaxing. The works in the port dont bother you and the diving is unspoilt. I have posted a full report twice on this hotel at http://www.agamaconsulting.co.uk/dive_reports and I know I will be going back there soon.
Waleed and Romana have a wonderful hotel staffed by a great team and Phil and the Emperor divers team will welcome you and make sure you enjoy your stay.
Brilliant hotel, great location to relax and chill out and superb diving.

I booked this as a last minute deal and was aware that the Hotel was isolated and that there was no beach. I wanted a quiet and relaxing holiday I do lots of clubbing etc in Manchester, I was not looking for that. I concur with the comments from the other reviewer, we stayed the week after her. First the bad points. On arrival I ordered two vodka and diet cokes, the measures were the same as pub measures here and I was charged £12. I was not happy, I then found that you could pay to go all inclusive for £14 each per day, this covered all drinks and a nice buffet lunch. After 11pm you paid at the bar. Beer was £2.50 per half litre and local wine £13 per bottle. Coke etc was £1 per can. All drinks were free by the glass full as part of the all inclusive deal. You could get imported drinks, for extra payment but the local spirits were fine. The local beer (lager)tasted a little home brewed but it was drinkable. One brew is called Stella, that is the only similarity. During my stay a lot of the wine had obviously been stored upright resulting in the wine being corked, I advised management who remedied this with their suppliers, I was impressed with the Hotel Management if there was a problem and you politely raised it with them it was sorted to your satisfaction, they welcomed constructive criticism. The red wine is a merlot and was very palatable, the white and rose was ropey. I am not an alcoholic, I mention all this because it was totally absent from the last review. The good bits, the hotel is beutiful, the rooms superb and the service is very friendly. The roof terrace is gorgeous, I am a virgo man, I do not do romance, but the roof terrace was very romantic at night when it was illuminated with lanterns. There are panoramic views of the sea, the marina and the mountains. My room had a balcony which also shared these views, I was in ectasy, no I will not give you the room number cos I want it next time, you will have to use the roof terrace!!. All of the rooms did have a decent view. There is no beach, the hotel was shipping people out each day to other hotels with beaches. These all had access to the sea and you could snorkel on the coral reefs, a wonderful experience, you must try it, I dived in the UK for 15 years this was better than all of that put together, the sea is warm you can spend hours in there. Diving courses are available from the hotel, details are on the web. All of the official trips can be done at a fraction of the cost by organising it your self. eg a camel ride and quad biking was £65 from the rep, I got the same deal on a local beach (hotel Vandom) for £20. The local who you deal with for this is good looking and a charlatan so watch him with your girl friends:)he kept trying to buy mine and he was serious! If he had thrown in a time share on his bungalow I may have been tempted, OUCH - sorry girlfriend just read it. You can hire the hotels minibus for 15 euros each, minimum 4 persons and it will take you to local towns, beaches etc. Room service is 1st class and they have a very cheap laundry service, the best ironing I have ever seen, my girlfriends dress was creased when she took it from her case at 6pm one evening, she rang reception it was collected and ironed in 20 minutes for about £1.50. The rooms were cleaned twice a day, I tipped the cleaner £5 and was treated like royalty. The hotel pool is not heated and its freezing. Some young people (late teens early 20's) were dumped in the hotel on an allocation on arrival deal. It was not suitable for them, as there was no entertainment and no where to walk out too. The rep and the hotel management did their best to accomodate them and they did enjoy their holiday after the shock of the first night. They were good fun and I enjoyed there company. The rest of the guests were a friendly lot and we had some great evenings with them, thanks to you all for a great holiday. Nigel Preston Manchester.
