Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The hotel is very easy to get to being right on the side of the A130, there's plenty of parking when you get there. The room was clean and tidy and had a bigger TV than some of the other Travel Lodges. The Reception staff was really friendly and was keen to help.

Very comfortable bed and room was nice and clean. Great service provided by Jo at reception - was extremely helpful following an error (my fault) I'd found with a future booking. Toby restaurant next door is busy and OK, and I know that the carvery is their 'think' but if you're staying for a couple of nights or more like me, it would be nice if there had been a bit more menu choice IE not carvery. You know something like gammon & eggs or scampi etc. Anyway - Thanks Jo for all your help, and yes I do recommend this Basildon Wickford Travelodge, and I hope you like your full roast dinners!!

We paid £72.99 for a one night stay while we were having work done at home. I have rated this hotel as poor because things weren't as described when booking. There was no shower gel in the dispenser in our bathroom, so consequently no shower for us! The television didn't work properly, repeatedly displaying the message "no signal", along with the picture just breaking up. There were cobwebs & dust bobbles on the walls. The walls are very thin & unfortunately there were some very noisy guests staying in the hotel at the same time as us, which just made the whole stay even worse. The hotel is generally tired looking & in need of a bit of care & attention. Our room certainly was not worth £72.99, probably only half that amount.

Very comfortable room, the staff were excellent at all times. We would highly recommend staying at this hotel. Our room was allocated upstairs but on arrival we were offered an accessible room. Which due to our ages we were pleased to accept

Excellent staff very helpful nothing too much trouble. Rooms a little tired could do with new furnishings. Tidy the garden area. A very nice place to stay. Definitely worth a stay very convenient for getting to shops and restaurants. Toby Inn next door serves excellent food.
