Paul's OCD cleaning means this place is spotless! The bedrooms and bathrooms are accommodating with all you need. We went when the weather was chilly and arrived to a roaring wood burner which was very welcoming. The next evening on our return from exploring Cuenca the same welcome. Paul makes your breakfast of juice, coffee and toast with home grown...

Loved this place. Typical Spanish nothing too quirky but characterful in function and décor. Nice, well furnished room (the one with the 4 poster bed in the photo's). Breakfast was adequate but a bit limited in choice but hey this is not a 5 star hotel and certainly a heck of a sight cheaper. Probably the one and only English...

Owner/manager very helpful. Rooms very clean. Great value for money. Central location. Made to feel very welcome. Free tea and coffee. Good, adequate breakfast. Very pretty village but not much to keep you longer than a day or two.

This is a lovely place. The accomodation is clean, attractive with a great blend of old and modern. Super value for money, right in the middle of a historic village. We were there on the last night of fiesta in September. There was no problem with noise although a real party spirit was in town. Would advise booking in advance...

Alarcon is an unforgettable tourist destination. The room was quiet, clean, comfortable and secure and Paul, the owner (from England), was very attentive and helpful. The location is great; just down the hill from the main plaza and just a short walk to anywhere in town. The price was extremely competitive with a good breakfast and free wi-fi included. The...

Hostal El Hidalgo de Alarcon is a very special place with Paul being a fantastic host. The visitor feels welcomed and cared for and the house is warm, comfortable, clean and beautifully furnished. What makes a stay here extra special are the unique historic surroundings and the setting within this ancient town. No car is needed to experience the old...

This small establishment is set in an attractive, mediaeval village. We visited in March and it was positively dead! We were told by the proprietor that he thought there was one restaurant which was definitely open that evening but between 7 and 8 PM nothing was happening. Eventually, we found a tapas bar and had a reasonable bite to eat...

What a find! La Posada el Hidalgo de Alarcón is such a beautiful hotel and I would strongly recommend it to anyone wanting a relaxing trip away. Paul, the host, is brilliant and gave us loads of information about the area (which is quite simply, stunning) and he took us for a Kayak around the river at the bottom of...

This hostel is a real gem. Paul could not be more helpful and the restaurants and bars all serve superb food. As a first time kiyacker I was a bit worried about venturing out, but the river is like a millpond and bankeb by stunning scanery. I would thoroughly recommend to anyone.

Driving from Santander to Almeria we decided to break the journey. And we are so pleased that we did. This is a wonderful, typical Spanish Hostal in an outstanding small town. The siting of the Hostal is very central, the interior cosy and the rooms excellent. The showers are excellent. The bonus is that it is Run by Paul, who...
