Anna and Norrie couldn't have been more welcoming we arrived with their lively conversation, excellent advice about places to visit and to eat, and much needed tea. Their garden is tremendous, and supplied blackcurrants for our porridge at breakfast , as well as Norrie's excellent jam and marmalade, with which we have been supplying our family since our return. We...

We did not stay in this charming place, but came to explore their garden. We were not disappointed, and after a warm and friendly greeting,we were given a map of the 7 acre garden to wander at our leisure. I suppose it is best described as idiosyncratic, but a delight to explore. It is,as a garden that "does- its-own-thing" should be ,natural and spontaneous, with love...

This was our first visit and we were delighted. The house is situated within a glorious garden adjacent Loch Linnhe, a short ferry ride from Corran (nor Fort William) and within close sight of some of the most beautiful scenery Scotland has to offer. OK we were blessed by exceptionally warm, sunny and clear weather, but the location and quality...

Staying in the self-catering cottage is perfect for me when I want to come up and get away from it all - I can choose to be snug and cocooned in the lovely house with its wood burning stove and well equipped kitchen or, if I want consistently superb advice on what to do or a quick chat and a...

We stayed 4 nights with Anna and Norrie in their charming house, once the home of Constance Spry, the famous mid 20th century florist and cookery writer. Norrie took over the house from his parents and Anna's creative skills have turned it into a charming place to stay. We had the upstairs double room with the most comfortable bed we...

We were booked here for one night, and it was beautiful. The garden is just heavenly especially when I went exploring early in the morning, and found an unexpected view of the sea. The rooms are comfortable and quiet and the breakfasts were fantastic. Home made bread and fruit salad as well as a wide choice of cooked breakfasts. You...

An old house with lots of charm, situated in a quiet secluded location accessed by either a ferry from Corran to Ardgour costing £8.20 (car + passengers) each way, or a round trip from the main Fort William to Mallaig road on single track roads. Your host Norrie is charming and will make you tea/coffee on request. (There are no...

Late autumn was the perfect time to make a visit to Ard Daraich Gardener's Cottage. Nestled in the most amazing garden the property was immediately inviting. As we entered, I sensed we'd made a fabulous choice in coming here. Everything was available to make the cute and cosy cottage the perfect place to come home to after exploring the stunning...

Norrie and Anna made our three night stay very homely and memorable. Norrie provided a spectacular breakfast spread each morning, with many home-made goodies and was extremely generous with his time and shared a lot of local knowledge with us. The roaring fire was particularly welcome given how cold and damp it was last February. The large hillside garden was...

We spent 4 days at Ard Daraich in late June 2015. A little rest and rejuvenation was needed before we started touring the Highlands. “My general tips for the cottage would be to pack plenty of appropriate clothing for the variety of weather and plenty of provisions for self catering as the local shops and restaurants are fairly limited (which is part of the charm of the area and a good thing!)”
