We would have loved to have spent more time here. As other reviewers have noted, with the hilltop setting you can see the ocean in the distance on one side and mountains on the other. The lovely common areas that guests use, both indoors and outdoors, take full advantage of the views. I could happily spend a day just sitting... More

It's a lovely quiet place... Very kids friendly, stunning view in every cardinal direction. The hosts are so helpful and do everything to make your holidays unforgettable. Good starting point to trips all over Abel Tasman, so you can stay there a couple of nights! Enjoyed every minute staying there...

Fran and Dan have built something special here. The hilltop setting offers wonderful views, the accommodation is both elegant and comfortable, and the welcome is warm. The little pigs, the friendly horses and the lively baby goat are bonuses. I wish we could have stayed longer.

We had reserved a room facing the sea (far down, since this is not a "by-the-beach BB") and well worth it with a private balcony. Modern and very clean yet rustic with breakfast in communal room. The owners are wonderful and helpful. Nicest place in the region. The rooms facing the mountain overlook the parking below but cost less, so... More

This Lodge is midst of a impressive scenery. It doesn´t matter which room you have. The views are amazing on both sites. If you like to watch the sunrise in the morning without getting out of your bed then the seaside rooms are perfect for you. If you like a sublime scenery, take the mountain view rooms. My partner and I just spent a weekend at the Split Apple Lodge. The lodge is situated on top of a hill, with beautiful views across Tasman Bay all the way over to the Abel Tasman National Park. Beaches of Kaiteriteri, Marahau and Split Apple Rock are nearby. There is no public transport to the lodge, but this is common... More

There is not more to say about Split Apple Lodge than it's an amazing place to stay. The stunning view is just overwhelming, sea in the front and the wide forest in the back. I had a pleasant stay with my wife. The great hospitality of the owners makes you feel rather like a friend than a guest. This place... More

We stayed in a room with sea view, which is highly to recommend. You can enjoy the view even when laying in bed. The rooms were exceptional clean and beautifully furnished. For brakefast they... We stayed at Split Apple Lodge for 3 nights and didnt want to leave! I couldnt fault anything while we were there. We travelled with our 3 month old baby and it was our first trip away from home. Franzi and Daniel were incredibly hospitable and helpful. When we arrived they had set up a baby bed, and brought us... More

I had high expectations and Split Apple did not disappoint. Location, views, hospitality - this has everything one could ask for. We even were invited to help ourselves to a beer after a hot journey, Definitely one of the best stays in a wonderful holiday in New Zealand.
