Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The lodge was lovely very comfortable and clean had everything you could need. The only little gripe i have was that we couldn't get the radiators to work, it was very cold in the bedrooms and bathrooms but we survived as it was only 2 nights,

Perfect location for exploring the new forest without being right on top of everything. Very clean, nice comfortable room but the pillows were a bit hard for my liking. However that's just a small complaint. The check in was easy friendly service and plenty of parking

Not bad for a budget hotel. Easy parking, fridge in the room and free bottled water were appreciated, as well as the free toiletries. The reception is only open a few hours in the afternoon so make sure you time your arrival well for check-in. Sound insulation is not the best but it did not bother us too much and we could not hear the traffic from the main road staying in one of the rooms at the back of the building.

Not impressed in the slightest. Firstly, check in was stated to be from 3 till 7. We turned up at 4.30pm to no one being there. I rang the number provided and was answered by a woman who sounded like she had better things to do than to help a guest. She informed me that she had already sent me a text with the information to get in which I had not. She proceeded to tell me that she had and that I must have missed it. I hadn't received anything. Finally got into the room and then the bed sheets where dirty/stained, the towel was stained, the bathroom was moldy and fousty smelling and the room just wasn't finished with missing door knobs and a broken shower head. But there was no one there to complain to, convenient! Don't recommend.

It says it’s a 4stars hotel but whoever gave it those stars must have been drunk. I stayed there with my family but our trip lasted for just a few hours. The beds were the worst ever if you have any back or let pains don’t think about going there. I needed heavy painkillers after just a couple of hours. No receptionist after a certain time of the day and breakfast is in another site away from the hotel. The rooms had cleaning chemical smell and the whole experience was a 1star. Complaints are useless

Whenever we are in the new forest we always stay here. The rooms are big and beds huge and very comfortable. It has a convenient fridge and kettle in the room. There is a big lobby with dining table chairs toaster, microwave and a vending machine ..There is a nice Indian restaurant opposite and a pub five minutes away( the poacher). location is brilliant. We saw donkies, ponies, horses, wild pigs two mins away (first turning on the right). Easy access to forest walks, cycling, and all places of interest. The host Angela is lovely with helpful tips on what to see in the area.Best place in the area. Will definitely be back

Massive space for a family with 2 adult kids, It had 2 bathrooms, one with a bath and a good kitchen with all the appliances. Sofa bed wasn't the comfiest but it worked for us. Great price and perfectly situated for us visiting relatives. With parking off road and a good Indian next door if you want a good meal too. Note our loft room was up stairs so had to carry bags up but again not an issue for us and really quiet.
