Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Having viewed other locations we met with Lex and chose Gray Manor for our wedding. Lex, Jason, Sharon, Chelsea and indeed all staff helped make our day magical. Sharon and team decorated the dining room perfectly while Lex managed to deal with last minute changes. The meal chosen was very good, food was plentiful. All guests had a good time and those that stayed enjoyed a hearty cooked breakfast.

A very strange hotel. The people are really nice and helpful. However the standard of the hotel needs a lot of updating. Paint work and furniture is damaged and old. A real mix and match kind of place. Clean sheets and comfortable bed. Breakfast was really nice. The bar didn't seem to be used or manned to be honest. Strange experience.

My wife and I had our wedding at Gray Manor and cannot recommend it highly enough. The staff were amazing and really helped our special day from booking to the end of the day. They could not of been more friendly and accommodating. Everyone agreed it was the best food they had had at a wedding. A huge thank you to Lex, Jason and all the people here. A special thank you to the ladies who helped my wife dress the breakfast room and went above and beyond!

Stayed for one night on our way to Cornwall, lovely hotel, staff couldn't do enough for you, my husband and I were accompanied by our two dogs, this hotel is totally dog friendly and they certainly enjoyed their stay too. The hotel have two resident dogs who are very friendly. The room was clean and spacious. The only thing I could possibly grumble about was the continental breakfast it lacked croissants which to me makes a continental breakfast instead there were crumpets to toast yourself but thats just a personal view. Would however recommend the evening meals, freshly cooked and fantastic value. Will definitely be staying here again.

We arrived after having done 21,000 steps visiting Bath and Bristol universities. Such a friendly welcome from 3 members of staff. Delicious evening meal - we 3 had ribs, burger and prawn curry. All very happily. Daughter also happy with sticky toffee pudding. Breakfast delicious - great quality bacon (and I am a pig farmer’s daughter!) Really perfect, relaxing stopover before our Southampton uni visit. Also loved the dogs. Thank you!

They were absolutely lovely and was there to help us when we broke down. A team full of rugby players were allowed to sit in the air con bar whilst the hotel staff looked at the problem. Top class people!

We were on our way on a rugby tour and our minibus broke down. We had to pull in to the hotel and the staff there were very helpful and supportive. They allowed us to sit inside out of the sun and helped us to get the mini us sorted and back on the road. They couldn’t be kinder and do any more to help us.

I had the suite (room 9). Room smelt very damp and had mould around the window. The hot tub hasn't been cleaned properly as had lots of dirt in the pipelines which became apparent after use. The shower also had someone else's hairs in the shower tray. The whole room looked very dated and cheap. I wouldn't recommend.

On arrival I was disappointed with the run down look of the place. The reception needs cleaning up. The dogs are lovely but the whole place smelt of them. The first room they showed me was dreadful. The wooden floor was uneven and lifting. The next room was clean but very dated and run down. The staff are very friendly and the breakfast was good. We cut out stay short and went to stay at home that way we know what we were getting. It's a shame as it was s gift for us
