My girlfriend and I stayed in one of the private and spacious cabanas with its own kitchen and bathroom for a few nights during out stay to Santa Catalina in January. What a view!!! It was easy to book a room and stay in touch via e-mail with Elli, the on-site manager/employee. When we arrived, one of the maintenance guys...

We stayed in a small cabina at rancho estero and felt very welcome by owners Eli and Zigor! The view from right outside our cabin was epic to say the least, great price on surfboard rentals. rancho estero is definitely for the outdoorsy types! We Highly recommend staying here!! Truly beautiful!

A small cosy Rancho with 4 bamboo huts varying in size all on the hill overlooking Playa Estero. I could watch the surfers ride there waves from your hammock. Ideal place to go to learn to surf the sandy beach breaks (Zigor was a very good teacher and boards could be rented from the Rancho). The Rancho was clean with...

I can't say enough good things about all that is Rancho Estero: cabins with ceiling fans (yes, ceiling fans!), the sounds of the ocean, lightening bugs, Elli and Zigor the caretakers, and the view and the surfing, and the cats and dogs (to get your pet fix), and local help and food, and frogs and crabs, and all that is...

My wife and I came to Santa Catalina to go to Coiba National Park. We booked early with Elli. As we were arriving very late, we got very clear information as to which room we would stay in and how to reach it. I thought the hut we were in was cute and nice enough, with electricity, etc. The facilities...

We stayed for two nights at the Rancho Estero. Although we knew we would expect a accomodation which was simple and basic, we did not expect it to be worn and shabby ; the sundeck was partly prohibited due to the floor being not safe, the showers were poor and malfunctioning, the 'kitchen' was filthy and a mess, the (temporary)...

We are very sorry to hear about your unpleasant stay in Rancho Estero. And sorry that we personally haven't been there in those 2 days. We went to get supplies and the wood for fixing the sundeck, which we had to close partly for a short time, because of security reasons. Unfortunately the rainy season in Panama is hard on...

I stayed there a couple of nights and can totally recommend it. The little cabañas are really clean and comfortable. The view is just amazing, you can see the ocean and the beach, which is direct at the hotel. You can spend the day in one of the hammocks or go to the beach, which is directly at the hotel....

We stayed in one of the simple but nice cabins in this really beautiful garden directly at the beach. The beach was one of the more beautiful beaches we were at during our time in Panama and it is perfect for surfing. The supply with food is a little bit difficult and expensive as there is only one shop in...

Stayed one night in a triple queen bed casita. It was clean and nice, the grounds are beautiful and it was great to have a beer and swing in the hammock. The outdoor kitchen is great to have, there aren't that many food options in Santa Catalina. Easy walk to the sandy beach for beginner surfers. Zigor was really nice...

I have been to Panama twice now and visited Santa Catalina both times as I absolutely fell in love with all it has to offer. Between surfing for the advanced or beginners, snorkeling, kayaking, scuba diving, hiking, relaxing on the ocean, meeting great people, and eating great food. At Rancho estero you are overlooking the ocean at the perfect spot where...
