We have just returned from our 6th visit to these lovely apartments in beautiful Alykes. Each time we have stayed at Potamitis we have always been very happy with the cleanliness of the apartments and communal areas and this visit was no exception. George and his family have worked hard to make the environment as safe as possible during these strange Covid-19 times. Tables, chairs and sunbeds are cleaned and disinfected promptly once they have been vacated. Hand sanitiser pumps are available outside the bar/restaurant area, inside reception and at the breakfast buffet, (not forgetting the ones in the apartments too). The grounds are pretty and well maintained with plants, flowers, olive and lemon trees. We had lovely views from our apartment of the hills surrounding us and down to the sea. George's wife Andrianna cooks up a storm in the kitchen and we enjoyed many of the Greek speciality dishes. Angela and Marcos looked after us well, always appearing happy even when wearing facemasks in the high summer temperatures! Angela looks after the breakfast buffet which is tasty and was hygienically served. We had a lovely holiday and felt safe in Potamitis. Thank you so much George and family. Arrived late evening to a very warm welcome from George. He offered to keep the kitchen open if we wanted to order food past the usual closing time of 10 pm. We had a room in one of the new blocks, clean, spacious and large balcony, more than enough room for 2. Aircon was £50 for a week but was needed when we stayed from 18-25 August as was very hot!
Food was great, all home-cooked and reasonably priced, we ate out one evening and wasn't impressed so stayed in the studios for meals. The menu was extensive and no more expensive than the restaurants in the town. Pint of beer 3 euro and 9L of bottled water for 2 euro at the bar.
The pool was just the right size, no children so always quiet here. Plenty of sun loungers available. Very clean around the studios and all staff were wearing masks at all times. They are very quick to clean and disinfect tables and chairs once vacated.
Family run with great service, very friendly and George went out of his way on our last night when I asked for a late check out as late flight home to offer us a different room in another block. He came to find us in our room with the offer, which I thought was very kind.
Will definitely be returning here, hopefully next year once covid-19 has disappeared!!!

Having traveled around kefalonia for two weeks we thought we'd centre ourselves in Alykes to explore Zante. A friend recommended the Potamitis and it totally lived up to out expectations. George is a character and gives a warm welcome. The rooms are of a high standard and very quiet. The food is second to none and we ate there 4 nights out of our remaining seven. Marcus and Aggeliki provided 1st class service and advised me what was available as I have specific dietry requirements. They even ordered in gluten free bread. Andriana's home cooking must be tried and the prices are very competitive.. We explored the island by quad and used Dennis down on the square. I would recommend a trip upto Xigia beach and on to Agios Nikolaus. Also the church at Church at Gerakari at Sunset. Lovely taverna there and Loftus 300 m away also did lovely food. This is a place that we will definitely return to. It is spotlessly clean and the groundsman makes sure all the beds are disinfected at the end of each day. Marcus and Angela are constantly cleaning tables and chairs. Cutlery comes out sanitized in a bag. Spotlessly clean. Real quality. Thanks for a wonderful break George and family. Richard and Lisa.

We have recently returned from a 10 night break at Potamitis. We have stayed here many times before and are always happy with the way things are run. We knew before we arrived that George and his family were following the Greek governments protocol for Covid 19 very strictly and we felt extremely safe throughout our stay. The food here is delicious Adrianna is a wonderful cook and there is much variety. We therefore didnt feel the need to venture out to other bars/restaurants and were quite happy to be looked after by Angela and Marcos every mealtime. Cleaning is always meticulous, but the addition of hand sanitising stations and the regular cleaning of tables chairs and sunbeds were also very obvious. ALL staff wore face masks ALL the time. These new protocols did not spoil our holiday in anyway, we had as good a time as we have always had with George and his family. The pool is so clean and clear, the rooms are really comfortable and clean (especially the ones in the new block) and service is amazing. We can totally recommend Potamitis for a relaxing, chilled out break. We will return soon.

My husband and I booked the Potamitis Studios as a last minute booking. We were so glad we did. What a fantastic place it is. From the moment we arrived at the apartments we were made to feel very welcome and very safe. The COVID situation was handled brilliantly by George and all his family and staff.,The whole place was spotlessly clean. Sanitiser everywhere. The staff were cleaning tables and chairs as soon as you left them and sun-beds were cleaned every day too. We ate all of our meals here as the food was absolutely delicious. It is all cooked by George’s lovely wife Adrianna. We had breakfast every morning. This consisted of the usual cooked breakfast, cereal, cakes, toast, Greek yogurt, tea, coffee and orange juice. Adrianna also makes her own marmalade and jams. Also sour cherries that you can put on your yogurt. This was so delicious that I brought some back home with me. You can also buy the marmalade. This would normally be buffet style but because of COVID George’s daughter Angela serves it up for you. Just ask for what you would like. Lunches and evening meals were the highlight of our holiday. Traditional Greek food cooked to perfection and served by the lovely Marco and Angela. The rooms were spotlessly clean and a really good size. We were in the new block overlooking the pool. Bathroom had a great shower. Full sized fridge in the kitchenette and a kettle. Lovely balcony to sit out on and relax with a drink. We absolutely loved our spontaneous trip to Zakynthos and we hope to return here in the future. Thank you George, Adrianna, Angela and Marco for a wonderful week away. You are all amazing 😘

We stayed in one of the new rooms which was roomy with a spacious balcony and shower. The whole apartment, swimming pool, bar/restaurant and garden areas were kept spotlessly clean. They were constantly cleaning/sanitizing chairs, tables and sunbeds. George and his lovely family made us feel extremely welcome and safe during this unsettling time. The food served here is home cooked and very tasty.Only wish they served fish/calamare during lunch times as they do in the evening. We hope to see you again one day. It was our 5th trip to lovely Zante and this year we chose to stay at the Potimitis studios. We were not disappointed by this accommodation. We arrived on the 4th September pm and were welcomed by George who sat us down and went over the covid procedures that were followed to the letter in the accommodation bubble. We were shown to our accommodation in the older block of apartments and were not disappointed. It was exactly the type of accommodation we liked. The views over the hills and Katastari were amazing we could not have been happier. George and his family made us feel very welcome and the food that was served was lovely cooked by George's wife. It was a adults only accommodation which was good and the pool was lovely. Never more than 2-4 people in at a time sometimes totally had it to ourselves. Mainly 50+ age group of guests but there was a younger couple as well. It was about a 10 minute walk down into the town of Alykes and the lovely Beach. We would normally hire a scooter but this year walked everywhere and must admit it was a bit of a long trek back to apartments in hot afternoon sun with facemasks on and my husband and I both in our 60's found it hard work sometimes. Saying that I would highly recommend this little hidden Gem. We would definitely return here at some time in the future.

We have just arrived home from a 2 week stay at these beautiful apartments. We are loyal Alykes lovers and after having 2 holidays cancelled like everyone else we jumped at the chance to stay at Potamitis . Everything about the complex is picture postcard perfect. The sounds of the crickets, chickens, goats, cockerels to the smells that come from the kitchen to the blossoms on the tree. We stayed in the new block which wasn’t quite ready the last time we ate there. OMG plush doesn’t come in to it… best part of all. Shower on the wall which for us Greek holiday lovers is a rare thing. All of the staff worked from first thing in the morning cleaning all areas, the swimming pool was checked and cleaned twice a day for our enjoyment . A lot of guests preferred to stay around the pool however at temperatures over 40 most days it was too hot for us and chose to walk to the beach which was a 10 minute walk most days. Finally the food… like most of us who return to Alykes/Alykanas year in and out we love the Greek food. Eating here is as good if not better than most tavernas in town, lots to choose from with daily specials and all of the meals we had were too good for words. It’s an adult only place but if you are looking for a stress free, beautiful place to stay ( mountains are so pretty) with lovely people, great accommodation, staff who can’t do enough for you then Potamitis is for you like so many people who return year in and out

This family run hotel is amazing. Its owned and run by George and his amazing family. From the moment George welcomed us we felt as if we were at home away from home nothing was too much trouble. Marcos George's son in law worked tirelessly from morning to night looking after every guests needs.
The rooms were spotless cleaned every day. The food in the restaurant was fabulous cooked fresh every morning lunchtime and dinner time by George's wife Andriana. The prices were great too.
The pool area was spotless loads of sunbeds also showers by the pool the pool itself was big water was clean. The hotel complex is stunning and is a short walk from Alykes should want to walk into the village or visit the beach.
My wife and I thought the potamitis was perfect in every way. In fact on our last night (yesterday) were looking into going back in October

We have just returned from 10 nights at the Potamitis and they are fabulous! The studios are spotless, we were in the new block which were really modern with the comfiest bed we have ever had. The shower is really powerful and it’s great having a full size fridge and kettle in the room. The people who run it are lovely and very helpful, they will help with anything you need. The whole complex is absolutely spotlessly clean they work very hard at keeping it pristine, the pool was a great temperature even though we only used it a couple of times as the beach in Alykes is beautiful too. We also had a bike and went out and about quite a lot too. We had breakfast quite a few mornings and a couple of evening meals which were lovely . The downside and upside of the studios is that they are a 10 minute stroll from the beach and other restaurants (which doesn’t sound a lot but when it’s 34c it feels a long way!) the upside being it is so peaceful and all you can hear is the crickets , cockerels and the occasion dog it’s bliss , downside is it’s hot when you walk and being Greece there aren’t any pavements , it is well lit though. I would highly recommend the studios for a peaceful and relaxing stay … oh other bonus it’s adults only!
