Stayed here for a couple of nights. Once again we were looked after very well by the owners. Good food drink and atmosphere, competitive prices, if you're exploring hidden Wales this is the place to stay.

Moved to the area recently and happened upon The Black Lion. Have visited a few times since, all v nice meals. Staff always friendly and a lovely home made pizza or burger with a pint for a very reasonable £7.50. Lovely traditional pub/ hotel and open every day

Arrived slightly wet after a day cycle in the Welsh hills and were very happy to find such a great spot for dinner. The staff were really helpful and let us put our bikes safe in the back , and went along with my strange request for a hot squash :) Really tasty food, the rabbit curry was just what...

Stayed with a group of friends for a single night. The welcome, atmosphere and general "craic" in the Black Lion is brilliant. Such a lovely bunch of people running the place, and the locals were really welcoming too. Huge choice on the menu; the food was well cooked and very reasonably priced. Nice rooms too. This place is located in...

We stated one night. Our bedroom was very clean and of a good appearance and the beds were comfortable. and the hotel is in a quiet side street. The meals choice was very good and well presented. Talking to some of the residents and 3 local couples - they said we made the best choice of pub restaurant compare with...

Stayed the night in the big family room, this was the only downside to the stay, considering the pub is full of tradition and history the room was bland with cheap fittings. Lovely breakfast, really friendly staff, would definitely stay again. But like I said a little bit of love and investment in the rooms would go a long way...

Stayed here after days trekking. Restaurant area is very homely however was warned as there was a party in for dinner there could be a wait. Given there is an alternative across the road which I recced I just ordered a wild boar pate starter which was very good. See separate review Red Lion for rest of meal! The room...

We booked this b&b because of its location close to local fly fishing waters (teifi pools, river teifi) and we were delighted when we arrived to find a nice welcome and a large room for the three of us with one double bed and three singles for our three night stay. The room is tidied and cleaned each day which...

“If you need plenty of space or are staying for more than one/two nights ask for a room in the converted stable block. They are much larger than the above-pub rooms and have a really useful porch area for storing boots, coats, etc.”

“Room 7 is the family room. It has steep steps to access it and no facilities for anyone travelling with babies or young children. There are small windows letting in little light. The balcony area is scruffy and overlooks the owner's washing!”
