We recently stayed here for two nights whilst attending a family wedding in nearby Tregaron. Lovely hotel - great food, very helpful and welcoming staff and fantastic rooms! We had a family room (room 6), which was large and spacious with enough beds for quite a large family (there was 1 double bed, 3 singles and a sofa bed!). Lovely...

Excellent. Excellent. Travelling for business I stay in a fair few hotels per month. This is as good as a pub with rooms can possibly get. The Black Lion is perfect. Very friendly, great staff, nice cosy bar, amazing beds and HOT POWERFUL showers. Brilliant stuff!

Our room was very comfortable - though up some steep outside stairs. There are more accessible rooms. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom very modern.- nice tub. Unfortunately the shower leaked flooding the whole room. We did report that. Breakfast was good - served in a lovely old dining room. The location beside the stream is lovely. There were...

Heddwen and Alyn are the perfect hosts for this idyllic place. everything was so clean and cosy, the bed wonderfully comfortable and the food amazing. The local people we met were so friendly and made our weekend thoroughly enjoyable. We loved it and will certainly go back.

Had lunch with my family today. How this place is so quiet I do not know!! We had two 3 course meals & a kids meal free all for £30 with soft drinks. Excellent quality cooking and food. Fab service. Perfect for taking little ones. Real old pub atmosphere, with a log burner. My fave place to eat Sunday lunch....

We returned here after a gap of just over a year. Having previously had great meals here (hence the return), it was quite disappointing to be presented with a sheet with only 5 choices of meal. All three of us selected a different dish and decided that maybe it was because it was the chef's night off and so they...

We chose the Black Lion Hotel because of its location. It's situated perfectly for great off-roading, quad biking & cycling. What really made the weekend for us was the hotel. The owners couldn't be more helpful. The rooms are top quality and the food is excellent! We will be back again next year :)

We've stayed at the Black Lion twice already this year, both times while we've been completing hiking projects in the area. What can we say? The welcome is warm, the beer good and the service friendly. The breakfast tomatoes are to die for... I asked for the recipe and have been eating them ever since. The rooms vary in size...

“If you need plenty of space or are staying for more than one/two nights ask for a room in the converted stable block. They are much larger than the above-pub rooms and have a really useful porch area for storing boots, coats, etc.”

“Room 7 is the family room. It has steep steps to access it and no facilities for anyone travelling with babies or young children. There are small windows letting in little light. The balcony area is scruffy and overlooks the owner's washing!”
