Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Just spent a fabulous 3 days here. Just wanted to get away for a change of scene during the pandemic period. We certainly picked the right place. Richard and his wife couldn't do enough for us. They brought breakfast to the room on a tray so you can sit watching the dolphins having one of the best breakfasts ever. Lovely comfortable bed and everything kept clean. There is a fabulous balcony area overlooking the bay to enjoy an evening drink again watching the dolphins. We felt very relaxed and more importantly safe. We loved it so much we are going back next month!

Stopped for two nights April 22, Fabulous accommodation with ensuite bedroom and separate lounge diner, both with sea views and a shared balcony looking over the beach.
Great welcome and superb breakfast delivered to the room!
Good sized comfortable bed, lovely and warm room, well appointed with fridge, sofa and chair.
Had a fabulous time and would definitely stay again.
Compliments to the chef who looked after us so well!

After been recommended by friends I booked 2nights stay at the Wellington Inn /sup shack. The owners were friendly lovely couple, always there to help. The rooms were spacious like a flat, very clean, (bedroom, ensuite bathroom also living room) . You had in your room tea/coffee facilities. Mini bar, TV, hairdryer. Settee, chair, table. Bed very comfy, living room lovely table set out for breakfast, which there was plenty to choose from and the cooked breakfast delicious. Also if you wanted to eat a evening meal in room you could or takeaways. Would definitely return.

Very clean, inviting accommodation. Our own little mini suite, with living room, bathroom and bedroom. Another plus point was a private balcony overlooking the sea. Owners really friendly and welcoming. It was lovely to have a delicious ( and substantial) breakfast served in our own living area.

Altogether a perfect stay - my husband purchased a t-shirt from the sup shack surf shop and it is of excellent quality. Would recommend a stay at The Sup Sack Wellington Inn and will definitely return.

We visited the Wellington Inn after a day of dolphin watching and we weren't disappointed. We booked in advance, which is recommended if you don't want to be disappointed, for an evening meal and were faced with the challenge of what to eat. The specials and the menu is varied with a good selection of meals to choose from. The dessert menu is also varied with lots to choose from. Be warned though, the portion sizes are big and you don't need to eat a lot during the day prior to your meal. The food we ordered was wonderful. Full of flavour and definitely good value for money. We will be visiting again when we are next in the area and would highly recommend a visit if you are in New Quay.

We were here in July 2014. Once for drinks late evening and twice for dinner. The Publican is a warm humoured and freindly man who makes you feel at home and welcome imediately. The atmosphere is old world seafaring charm, lovely decor and furnishings, very cosy. It seems his wife is the chef. We had dinner twice here the last two nights eating out of our holiday, if we'd have found it before it would have een most nights. The menu is interesting a fusion of good old fashioned wholesome food with a modern twist and flavours. My partner is a Chef believe me he takes some impressing and very impressed he was!. Portions more than ample , service excellent and well organised. Wine list good and to top it off get a seaview table and be there at around 730pm and by 8pm or so you will be watching the Dolphins leap in the bay, ofcourse cant guarantee it but we saw them 5 nights out of 7 along this coast. I heard other guests say how lovely the roooms were, but we had been staying elsewhere. Dont miss this gem if in the area, infact go especially , well be back whenevr in wales. Thanks fabulous host and fabulous Chef.

My husband and I decided to try this pub for a meal out with my elderly parents who were celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary and we are locals. We wanted a special place to eat as we were often dissapointed in the past with terrible service and food so we went in with a trepid expectation but immediately we were welcomed in and we knew we had made the right choice,
The landlord wa very friendly and professional and so was the staff. We were so pleased with the excellent food that was served to us on lovely plates and the portions were generous to say the least.Brilliant!, The food was great and my parents and us really enjoyed this special night and we thoroughly enjoyed ouselves sitting in a lovely character pub with a great atmosphere. We are really looking forward to our second visit to The Wellington Inn and it must be good as we rarely eat out these days as we have had so many bad experiences with food in pubs but now we will go out more often if this is the standard.

Visited this pub last week. After being told there wasn't a single steak available left and did we still want to bother eating there, (lovely attitude) we decided on Battered Cod and the Wellington Inn Special, Chicken Breast in a Seasame Seed Batter with a sweet Chilli sauce, when it arrived after 45 minutes it was nearly thrown down on the table and the special was simply chicken nuggest and chips (frozen) as was the Battered Cod!!!! Dearest plate of nuggets I've ever had for £11.99!!! Crap food, rubbish service! Avoid at all costs!!!! Plenty of other places well worth going to.

We stayed here last year whilst touring parts of Wales on our motorbike. The Wellington was great as we could park the bike safely in front of the inn. The room was great and comfy with everything we could want available. The best part of the trip though was the food. The restaurant was packed with both tourists and locals and I could see why. The food was high quality and plenty of it. We enjoyed it that much we decided to stay another night and we are really glad we did as we then saw dolphins in the bay. Perfect trip.
