Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Very tasty Home made cake, ( various types) and a mug of tea was excellent after walking from Newquay.
Seating area at front was closed due to Covid 19 restrictions.
I and several others enjoyed the beach whilst having lunch. Very nice cake and tea topped off with fresh air (no seals or Dolphins this time)

After a very stressful and upsetting few weeks we were desperate for a relaxing peaceful break for a few nights. I found this haven of peace quite by chance. It's true what they say
" everything happens for a reason"
I called a couple of days before our arrival to check the booking to be greeted on the end of the phone by the cheerful friendly voice of Lynne she assured me all was fine.
We arrived a bit later than planned but we're greeted to a lovely welcome from Aled.
He showed us to our room which was clean, comfy and well equipped.
Breakfast!!! Well what can I say the best we have both ever had, fresh, well cooked, plentiful and the mushrooms are to die for. And the piece d' resistance FRESH COFFEE! (I hate instant with a passion) I tried the eggs benedict on the second morning which was superb. Smooth radio was playing in the background so there was none of the awkward silences you tend to get in some bnb's
Aled was attentive funny and so friendly and when Lynne was free from the stove was really lovely to chat to.
The cove and surrounding area is tranquil and restful, just what I needed.
Top and bottom of this review is I cannot wait to go back. We left feeling like we were saying goodbye to friends.

The owner of this premises .shouted at me to put my dog on a lead. He said its the village way to do things was very rude when he asked no please or excuse me but put your dog on a lead. I then said well I have been here 2 weeks and not one person has their dog on a lead leading to the dog friendly beach he said they run through his kitchen and have bitten someone. I had to explain my dog does not leave my side or bite anyone.very rude man indeed. We spent money every day in the cafe and not once did the man who served us manage a smile unless you were welsh then it was different all together all smiles then and talking in welsh. our holiday cottage overlooked his parking field and every 3 night he burns all his rubbish in Hugh black plastic bags. It was disgusting plastic smell and black smoke all over the place we had take our food from the balcony table and shut our windows and doors on a lovely warm night .Not the best thing to do on a lovely beach area he needs to pay to have his refuse collected like all the other bushiness in the area.

This was the perfect comfort break after a wet, windy morning on the coastal path. Nestled in a valley between tow difficult stretches of path it's the perfect place to refuel and relax, Generous portion sizes, friendly staff, great cake. Brilliant all round.

Wow, fabulous 3 night break with our 2 dogs. Lynn & Alud made us very welcome and the dogs. The breakfast is fantastic. Cymtudu is a great location on the coastal path with great walks and near llangrannog which is worth a visit. Definitely recommend & the b&b also has a cafe with excellent cakes!!

We haven't actually stayed at Melyn-y-Gors but felt we had to mention their outstanding hospitality. Yesterday evening my family had the misfortune of being stranded for 4 hours waiting for the RAC just a little way up the road from Melyn-y-Gors, with no mobile service we headed back towards Mely-y-Gors where the amazing owner Mr Aled Davies went far beyond the call of duty to help us, kindly allowing us to use their home phone to ring for recovery and again a few hours later when the RAC hadn't turned up. Although by now the café was closed and Mr Davies should have been sat with his feet up relaxing after what was probably a very long day, again he showed his kindness by not only offering his assistance but generously supplying us with free provisions to pacify my stressed out, hungry and thirsty family (the homemade cakes were beautiful). By midnight we were finally on our way home all due to the outstanding help we received from Mr Davies. If that is the sort of hospitality he showed us then I imagine anyone fortunate enough to stay at Melyn-y-Gors is in for a wonderful experience.

We had a brilliant stay here. Arrived after nearly 5 hours of driving to be welcomed with a massive smile and wave. Found the house no problem and it really is located right on a gorgeous little cove. They explained that they had only just taken over the B and B but had plenty of local knowledge and were enthusiastic about telling us places to visit. We were not located in the room that we thought we had booked and where actually in a triple room. This was spotlessly clean and a decent size. Lovely strong shower. Only downside and what looses it a 5 star review though was that the bed was only a double in size and for some reason we just didn't get a good nights sleep (could be that we are just used to a king size) we also found that the heating on all the time made it very warm in the room.
Breakfast was cooked to perfection and made even better with the cafetière coffee!
The cove was beautiful and we even watched a seal in the sea one morning after breakfast.
Would absolutely stay again.

We have visited the café a few times and sadly find the gentleman owner to be unfriendly and bordering on rude. His customer service skills in the café are sadly lacking. I've never stayed in the B&B so maybe that is the main focus. Not sure we will be visiting again due to the attitude. We sit outside with a dog who never seems to be in the right place, whether under the table, beside the chair. He isn't a nuisance at all and doesn't scavenge for beg from other tables. We were also moaned at once for buying 2 ice creams with a £10 note and not having change. It seems in busy times, they can't cope and turn people away by just stopping taking food orders, no discussion about waiting times or giving people the choice. I suppose being the only place in the village it is a captive audience. On the plus side the food is good.

The cafe is part of the B&B it is also where you would have your breakfast there is no balcony of the bedrooms that is the private accommodation of the owners but there are tables and chairs outside downstairs
