Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A fantastic week at Foxy Lodge! Having stayed at a few lodges on the Woodlands site before, Foxy Lodge was by far the most immaculately clean, comfortable and welcoming lodge we’ve stayed in. It was a home away from home. The lodge was equipped with everything you could possibly need and was a perfect size to house 4 adults, a dog and the many belongings that we brought. The lodge itself is beautifully decorated and in lovely, quiet area of the site. The balcony area at the back is private, with table and chairs where we enjoyed sitting in the afternoon soon. I cannot fault Foxy Lodge and would highly recommend. As a family we cannot wait to be back next year!

We visited Foxy Lodge for a 3 night stay at the end of July. We have stayed here on several occasions and are always impressed by the standard of accommodation as well as the ‘extras’ provided by Chris and Mel. Nothing is ever too much!! The caravan site is very quiet and welcomes dogs. This is perfect for us! Relaxing, small, friendly with direct access to woodland walks and the beach. The location is fantastic with a five minute drive in either direction to the harbour town of Aberaeron or the beach resort of New Quay. Both of which have amazing facilities and delicious places to eat out. Recommendations of things to do around the area- ⭐️ The moody Cow ( cafe, Sunday lunch, play centre) ⭐️ Llain activity centre. ⭐️The coastal path ⭐️ Beaches- Llangranog, Penbryn, Tresaith… to name a few. ⭐️ paddle boarding in New Quay. ⭐️ crabbing in Aberaeron. Places to eat… ⭐️Y Seler ⭐️Harbourmaster ⭐️ ice cream at Angelatos ⭐️Fish and chips at The lime crab ⭐️Tafell y tan- pizza ⭐️ The moody Cow ⭐️ Pizzatipi- in Cardigan but worth a visit!! We look forward to returning g again soon. Thanks for another fantastic stay!

Visited Foxy Lodge for a second time and enjoyed a wonderful break with our miniature dachshund. The lodge is of a high standard and well maintained with good quality bedding, towels and furniture. Kitchen is very well equipped and the lodge is exceptionally clean. Comprehensive information relating to the lodge, Woodlands Park and the local area is provided. Excellent WIFI. Mel does everything possible to ensure guests enjoy an excellent stay. Woodlands Park is gradually undergoing updating of some of the holiday accommodation but there was absolutely no disruption during our time there.

We stayed in Foxy Lodge near New Quay. Chris and Mel have the lodge to an excellent standard. Very much home from home. The kitchen is so well equiped if you want to cook. Furniture is very comfortable. We have stayed here several times and already booked again this year. Designated parking for one car. Our furbabies are welcomed with treats, Bowls are provided as well as doggy towels. A welcome pack awaits the family with Fresh milk, tea and coffee and some cakes. Decking area with furniture for lovely suuny days. Highly recommend for quiet, relaxing holiday listening to the birds singing.

We visited Foxy Lodge in November for a weeks holiday with our two miniature Schnauzers. We had a wonderfully peaceful holiday and rest which was just what we needed. The lodge is extremely comfortable with everything needed for a great holiday. Mel made us very, very welcome and we’ve already made a return booking for next year.

Stayed here for 4 nights end of July, 2 adults and a 3 year old, private booking through ukcaravans. Photos of the site looks amazing on the website and Facebook, but on arrival it looks like a building site. The lodge itself was lovely, very clean and spacious. The welcome gift was a nice touch Plus a welcome pack for our dog. We were informed there would be milk but there wasn’t so had to go shopping. The signal on the park is awful! The lodge we were in recently installed wifi and that signal was terrible too, we couldn’t watch something on tv and our daughter play games on her tablet at the same time. We walked around the park and the new lodges do look stunning then you see some that were the old lodges that look like 80’s holiday park chalets. And some pitches that don’t have any lodges yet. The playground, the website says there would be one. Yet there isn’t one, unless you call a wooden train, a broken wooden hut and some wooden beams a playground. The ‘bar’ we went in there for a drink one afternoon, there is a dog shop, but there isn’t any human food to purchase. The worst part of this stay was on the Saturday evening music was blaring from the bar as they had some disco event, it was ridiculously loud the floor in our lodge was bumping up and down. Overall we had a nice holiday, we went out to different places every day, we couldn’t have stayed in the lodge all day. This is definitely not a family place, so if you have children they would get very bored, but it’s very dog friendly

The Lodges are currently undergoing replacement to static caravans so the lodge (Georgie's Den *beware this lodge is not accessible for those needing wheels) we stayed in were cramped and worn. 2 people is manageable but 3 or more? I've stayed in bigger mobile caravans. The furniture was tired. the mattress uncomfortable, the bedrooms were tiny, In a house you would have a single bed in each and maybe a chest of drawers, in the lodge we had 2 singles in one and a double in the other, with about a foot of space between the beds or walls, there were cupboards in the bedrooms but they were full of cleaning equipment, so be prepared to live out of your suitcase/rucksack. The 3 TV's worked in each room and there is heating available as well via wall panel heaters and a imitation fireplace, didn't need to use them since it was still fairly warm. The WiFi which was great, the code was provided in a Welcome booklet. The Hottub was nice, but internal space? be prepared to be very friendly with whom ever you take with you. Wheelchairs? Pushchairs? Forget it. You don't have space. There is a Viranda but no undercover space. A welcome pack was mentioned, but we must have missed it somewhere, there was Tea bags, coffee and a small handful of sugar/sweetener but no milk, however there was 2 toilet rolls!. You have to go to the nearest shop to buy the rest of the essentials. The Towels were worn, rough and stained, one looked liked it been used to mop up bleach.. The Park itself is lovely, not sure about 5* however, unless they are planning to bring more activities and facilities into the park at a future date. It's very Dog Friendly, even into the Bar. My Dog has a legion of new fans. There is a tourist shop on site, but at the time we arrived (about 6) if there was a site grocery shop I didn't see it. New Quay is a lovely little town. Very tourist heavy but it's still nice for all that. Parking maybe a problem though there is a carpark at the top of the town and you can walk down the hill to the harbour. *There is disabled parking near the bottom near to the public toilets. The chip shop can be very busy, so be prepared to wait. I think there is others but we weren't there long enough to worry about it. Sadly because of the Accomodation we didn't stay long and had to leave after 24 hrs. It just wasn't practical for us.

We stayed at Woodland Park, New Quay, Wales, for one week in June 2022, in a one-bedroom lodge called The Caernarfon. The booking process was over-complicated, thanks to the site using “Smoobu”software in addition to their own messages. After paying a deposit, you are obliged to provide not just the usual details (name, address, phone and e-mail details), but also your date of birth plus a photograph of either your driving licence or passport. Not sure how happy most people would be at providing this much personal information. During payment you are charged a £35 linen fee, plus a £6 welcome hamper fee. You are not told what is in the welcome hamper. We were surprised on arrival to find that it comprised of just four teabags, four sachets of coffee, two biscuits, and some sachets of sugar. When I queried this, I was told it was good value for money, as it also included the toilet roll ! plus some milk which would not arrive until the next day. So don’t rely on the welcome pack to provide much, after a five hour drive. The Caernarfon lodge itself was spotlessly clean, and very well-equipped,. Although the bedroom is small, with no room for a wardrobe, there is a chest of drawers, plus a rack on the wall with hangers provided; the bed is comfortable, and there are bedside lamps and a wall-hung tv. There were a few books in the lounge area, and also a large tv. We were given the wrong wi-if password in our information e-Mail, and then another incorrect password when we asked staff on site. We asked once more, and were given another incorrect password, at which point we gave up. Who needs wi-if when you can go to the beach? On the deck here is outdoor seating, with cushions in a waterproof storage box, plus a parasol. The bathroom has a powerful shower, plenty of hot water, and two chests of drawers. In one is a hairdryer, hair straighteners and a hot brush (which unfortunately contained lots of hairs from a previous user). The kitchen is well-equipped, with everything you could want, even a Nespresso milk frother. The toaster and electric hob both seemed to take a very long time to get up to heat - about half an hour to boil an egg, so maybe plan to use the microwave if you are staying in for meals. Woodland Park advertises itself as “Five Star Luxury”, but at the time we stayed was obviously in the process of replacing some of the lodges, so looked a bit like a demolition site in places. A shame we weren’t warned about that in advance. Once the site is tidied up, it will be lovely, as the setting is very peaceful, surrounded by trees, and just a couple of miles outside New Quay, which is a smashing little seaside resort.
