After a long day all we decided to stop for a drink. We were charged £10 for two pints of coke because we chose to pay by card, having been out with the dogs we had no cash. Unfortunately we will not be returning again

A lovely little pub, the barman was friendly and welcoming. 4 of us all ordered lunch. My husband had a steak pie which arrived burned black and completely dried out.... You could've beaten someone senseless with it. I had a mushroom 'stroganoff' which consisted of a sliced mushroom, warmed in oil with a sprinkle of paprika over it. No sauce, just a sliced mushroom, oh and plain, boiled rice without any seasoning. My 7 year old can cook better than that and he wasn't impressed either.

We are lucky to be pet sitting in the quaint village of Kingston, Devon We decided to visit the local pub, The Dolphin Inn Wowser what a delicious home cooked Sunday lunch I had the roast pork & my husband the roast silverside of beef with all the trimmings including the best roast potatoes & Yorkshire pudding & a welcoming selection of different veggies incl mashed turnip & leeks in a lovely cheesy sauce With tender meats & a very generous serving with yummy gravy & extra requested once our lunch had been served to us . Delicious Then to top it off a yummy apple crumble with thick creamy custard Fabulously delicious Compliments to the very young chef & the lovely warm & welcoming staff , we'll be back A bit of a drive for a great lunch or dinner but we'll worth it we'd say & open fires to warm these wintery days Thank you…

Just wanted to say how welcoming the staff and locals were (Craig, Katie, Viv and the rest). As a visitor renting a cottage in the village you often wonder as an outsider what the pub would be like but no worries here. Christmas Carol's, mulled wine, hog dogs, chestnuts. What could be more christmassy. Thanks again all. We'll be back. Ps food was great
