Katia is the ideal hostess. Breakfast was filled with local specialties. Not even Marchigiano, I mean local as in Cingolese. The room was gorgeous, as is the entire property, a converted church. At 45€ /night this is a steal. It can be a little bit tricky to find, but close to town, peaceful, and cool inside despite the intense heat of summers in central Italy. I would think couples planning a romantic trip would love this place.

A 10 minute drive from Cingoli, B&B San Paterniano is formerly a 12th century church. It has been beautifully renovated and updated. When we arrived in May, we were the only guests and Katia gave us a complimentary upgrade as she said we would be more comfortable in the suite (and we were!). It is impossible to talk about this B&B without raving about our hostess, Katia. Not only is she an incredible baker, but she ranks as one of the nicest people we've ever met. She serves wonderful breakfasts (with her delicious pastries and cakes) but she also drove us to town and picked us up one evening so we could have wine at dinner. The suite was comfortable, spacious and quiet. Loved Cingoli and loved staying here.

Beautiful b&b minutes from the centre of the historical hill town Cingoli. Katia was a fantastic host; professional but very friendly at the same time, even welcoming our border collie with open arms. She had lots of activities to recommend to us to do in the local area. Lovely Italian style breakfast with numerous different cakes and sliced meats and cheese. Great value for money.

A beautiful hidden treasure near a pretty town in gorgeous countryside. Our stay here was made especially happy by the warmth and enthusiastic kindness of Katia, whose pride in this historic gem is infectious. We loved our stay here and will remember breakfasts in the old chapel and improvised picnic lunches in the garden. The simple bedroom, prettily decorated, was all we needed and the bathroom, though small, worked well.

We decided to go and see what the Balcony of Marche was like and this is the best sleeping option. The first time it was a bit tricky to find the private road turn off on one of the roads out of Cingoli. But you're richly rewarded by a labour of love renovation of a medieval church. The dining room was breathtakingly restored with one of the 13thC frescos saved from the cows that used to be housed there. Our pretty room was fitted out to a high quality of finish. A little trouble with wifi because of the ancient thick walls. The other reviews mention Katia's hospitality and her beautiful breakfasts with medieval music and attention to detail. I can confirm it is all true and was a very lovely experience.

Of all the places we have stayed in since the beginning of our trip in Italy one week ago, this was the nicest. If you happen to be out in 'this part of the woods', I can definitely recommend this B&B. You get to stay in a restored old church with modern facilities, making this an experience to remember. Breakfast is served in a high-vaulted room at a large table. If you are looking for wifi, there isn't any! The thick church walls make it impossible to have wifi. So just enjoy the place and read one of the many books around. The B&B is difficult to find, even with Sat Nav, so make sure you get directions. Katja was lovely to talk to and we really enjoyed her hospitality.

We spent 3 nights here and loved the place. There was a very warm welcome from Katia when we arrived, and she did much to help us get the most out of our stay - phoning to reserve a restaurant table, checking the opening hours of the places we wanted to visit. Our room was the Romantica room with much character, a very comfortable bed and modern bathroom, beautiful stone walls, timber beams. Very tranquil. Breakfast is taken in the crypt, and there is a large variety of food - cereals, fruit juice, yoghourts, fresh fruit, bread, nuts, cheese, ham and a choice of home-made cakes, tea or coffee. Katia likes to introduce guests to local cake recipes from the Marche - she is a very good cake maker. She will happily tell you the history of this renovated church, and give you information on the area. The B&B is located just outside Cingoli, in a very quiet area. There is a large garden with loungers and a hammock for relaxation. You really do feel to be in the heart of the real Italy here. We would definitely return.

San Paterniano is a beautifully restored and maintained house (with old church) very close to the hill town of Cingoli in Le Marche. It offers delightful rooms, breakfasts and views and is run by Katia who is the perfect host. Not only is she beautiful she is also a great pastry chef so guests can always find new delicacies at breakfast time. We certainly will be returning.

Wonderful stay in a former church, with its history and unique atmosphere (The church is since centuries no prayer hall). Enjoined the the space and conveniences of the suite (there is only one, take if if available!). Tranquility guaranteed. The owner is a darling. The environment around Cingoli an eye-opener.
