Situated in a lovely rural setting this is a perfect escape from city life. The area is alive with wildlife, birds and wildflowers and the owners Will and Sarah are perfect hosts. Sarah even gave us some of the family milk when we ran out whilst making tea. We stayed in Damsel which is a shepherds hut and the newest accommodation on the property. It’s small but perfectly formed with its own private sauna, large hot tub and gas powered barbecue. We ordered the barbecue pack in advance which was very good value and the welcome hamper was lovely - two days breakfast easily. The fishing in the lakes is of good quality, and a pleasant way of spending a day or two. This is not the cheapest accommodation but with good reason - excellent quality all round and worth the splurge. We will be back.

We have just returned back after a week at this excellent location where my wife and her brother’s family and I all had a fantastic relaxing week. The lodges are really well equipped (with a really whizzy shower  ) and a lovely hamper to welcome us. I got away with murder and fished all day for 5 days so I really enjoyed myself. As a fanatical Angler, the fishing suited all of my needs with a well-stocked lake of “Silvers” and quite a few “Bigguns” (Carp) clearly seen on the surface most days. Will and Sarah were excellent hosts and we will definitely be going back in the future

My third stay and it never disappoints. Excellent fishing, beautiful surroundings and Will and Sarah are very welcoming. Will be returning in November. Location is ideal for local attractions, but the site is so beautiful you will not want to leave it.

Just back from a wonderful 4 nights in Woodpecker Lodge & am missing the place already. The lodge was clean, comfortable & well equipped and the whole experience was one of peace and tranquility. The wife enjoyed the hot tub while I was fishing alongside the lodge. The fishing was challenging but the quality of the fish caught was exceptional. All in all a lovely break in a beautiful place and we will be back I am sure.
