Parking near the Tally Ho! not easy. Three of us ordered the steak, mushroom and ale pie with suet crust pastry. The portion size was enornous and it was absolutely delicious. It came with four veg plus chips. (We were asked if there was anything wrong with the veg as we hadn't finished it when the table was cleared -... More

Decided on this place as being half way between here and there. Dog friendly, helpful young staff, good beer. We were early enough to catch the "early bird menu", my breaded fish was ordinary in the extreme, friends had a good Caesar and a very good pie. Worth a visit!

We had pork chops in an apple and stilton sauce, wow it was wonderful. Their garlic bread was excellent as it was two great hunks of bloomer bread not those horrid little slices that so many places give their customers. Well done to the chef, we had an excellent meal. The beer was good too, brewed on site we believe,... More

We received a very warm welcome when we arrived at the Tally Ho! Inn. We were cycling from Plymouth to Ilfracombe and it is exactly half way between the two, so a perfect place for an overnight stop. The staff were happy to lock up out bikes in their shed/barn out the back, and the rooms were clean and comfortable.... More

Just stopped here for a night ....... what a great little proper pub. All staff were welcoming and rooms were more than adequate for a night or two. Good choice of food and beer brewed on site was ace! Room rates were very reasonable ......... couldn't recommend it higher.

We stopped at the Tally Ho for 2 nights and were delighted with the pub. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. They really made sure we were happy and nothing was too much trouble!! The room was small but well equipped. And the food was fantastic!!! The young chef was surprisingly accomplished. He made the best steak ale and... More

Our stay was lovely. Bedrooms were traditionally decorated with good toilet facilities. The breakfast we had was of very good standard and served us well for the day. Lovely little pub just below the rooms with lots of culture to offer. Great drinks and very friendly staff. Ever brew there own ale which is very recommended. The food on offer... More

We loved this pub. We hired all three rooms for our family and our friend's family. The rooms were clean and comfortable. We all ate at the pub and the food was excellent. It was good pub grub but better than average with a fab menu. The landlord and staff were very friendly. Nothing was too much trouble.

Had Sunday lunch here today wow! Really nice. All you can eat - fresh veg - proper roasties - choice of 3 meats. I only live 7 miles away and keep forgetting about it... not anymore. All home made including the yorkie pud. The only negative which it isn't really was the cut of beef. . Bit too thin. But... More

Recently visited as guests to a wedding. The recently married couple are locals here, and swear by the the place, and put us up at the 'Tally Ho!' to stay for the weekend. After arriving quite late in the evening, the legendary, possible landlord, was incredibly welcoming, showed us to our room and assured us that if there was anything... More
