We stayed at Hotel Esperanza for 5 nights as part of a 3 week holiday in Costa Rica. We wanted to base ourselves somewhere at the end of the holiday on the coast to just relax and chill out having spent 2 weeks touring around the country. We chose Playa Carrillo from the guide book and then the hotel from...

The four of us stayed at Hotel Esperanza for several nights. It was our last stop in Costa Rica and we fully enjoyed our days there. Dennis, the owner, was very accommodative, helpful and good person to talk to. The Hotel does not have a full size restaurant, but Dennis serves breakfast, which is included in the price. The breakfasts...

We had a wonderful experience staying at Esperanza hotel with our two small kids. Hotel is small and very family friendly. There are big and kiddie pools as well as a spa pool. All rooms are on the first level. Rooms and common area are exceptionally clean. Breakfast is included and you get eggs, variety of fresh fruits, pancakes, French...

Very clean and comfortable. Dennis the owner goes above and beyond expectations, just to make your stay better. Very close to what must be the best beach in Costa Rica. Going to the Pacific coast? A must stay kind of place.

This is a smaller property with just seven rooms all on the ground floor. The owner, Dennis, is very knowledgeable, welcoming, and accommodating. He can and will help with tours and/or car rentals even restaurant suggestions. Breakfast was included with our room rate. He serves tea, coffee, juice, water, milk, fruits, pancakes, gallo pinto, eggs, toast. Just ask and he...

The owner, Dennis, goes above and beyond to make your stay truly remarkable. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the morning breakfast will not disappoint! This place is a GEM! The best beach in Costa Rica is a short 5-10 walk away - be prepared to walk uphill on the way back! I would stay here again.

Hotel Esperanza is a friendly, well run and very clean hotel. I stayed here for the last 3 days of my vacation and could not have been happier. Dennis, the owner, goes out of his way to make sure his guests are well taken care of. Although the rooms do not have a mini fridge (which was fine with me...

You can probably get a hotel closer to the beach up the road in Samara, but I'm glad to have found Hotel Esperanza, and I'll come back next time I'm in the area. The clean comfortable room, great price, quiet neighborhood, relative proximity (about 5 minute walk) to a beautiful and surprisingly quiet beach (Playa Carillo), delicious breakfast, and the...

If you like the quiet of a small hotel with an international flavor, this is the place for you. But the real attraction is the owner, Dennis, a native Floridian and semi-retired propsman for Disney and Ringling Brothers, who'll give you a ride into town, direct you to best tours and restauants from the local "soda" to nearby fine dining,...

Visited playa Carrillo for three binge with my dad in February of 2016. The beach is a short walk down hill and there is an excellent steak house right next door to the hotel. The owner, Dennis, was an excellent host and provided a wonderful breakfast every morning. The cinnamon toast provided was my favorite! Rooms were nice and the...
