Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My fiancé, In-laws to be and I went to the Devonshire fell for lunch and a wedding viewing. The gentleman who showed us around (I believe his name is Mateo?) Was lovely and friendly, he was very knowledgeable and welcoming. We had delicious sandwiches and lovely coffees. Would highly recommend.

A really nice hotel in a really nice area. Staff were great and very accommodating. Breakfast also great which is always a bonus. Room was nice. 1 point would be to have coffee sachets as not everyone knows how to use a Nespresso which means you’re unable to have a coffee in the room

Absolutely Superb stay! We took up the fantastic offer of staying whilst the Hotel was supporting the students from The Wirral Met catering college over three days and what an amazing job they did. Nicky the Hotel Manager along with other staff could not have done a better job at making sure everything was spot on . The hotel itself is beautiful with views across the Yorkshire dales and river Wharfe ?are to die for ! We stayed in a dog friendly suite which had the definite WOW factor !, it was gorgeous and so cosy .It had a Lounge area /bedroom with TV and en-suite.The main bedroom area had TV,coffee machine /Tea station and a lovely sitting area in front of the large window with two beautiful armchairs to look out across the fells and river.! Stunning. There’s was and en-suite with bath and shower .The Queen bed and pillows were extremely comfortable gorgeous bed linens and furnishings. The room was very quiet and we had a perfect nights sleep. We enjoyed delicious and plentiful early evening canapés,which had been made and served by the students as was ,the wonderful 6 course Dinner. The food was exceptional . The Students worked very hard in a polite and efficient manner. Congratulations to them all …..wonderful . Thank you Devonshire Fell for a fantastic time .Would love to return again . Anytime but I’m hoping it’s very soon !!!

We spent Christmas 2023 at the Devonshire Fell. We booked the Christmas package which involved arriving on Xmas Eve and leaving on Boxing day. We had a wonderful time and would highly recommend both the hotel and the Christmas package. The staff were extremely friendly and attentive, particularly considering they were working over Christmas, this was very much appreciated. The food was delicious throughout. The hotel is extremely dog friendly and our cocker spaniel had a great time, she was treated to a Christmas gift in the room (as were we), a continuous stream of doggy biscuits, and her very own sausage at breakfast time :-) The hotel location is great, it's a shame the weather was so wet for us but we're keen to return in the Spring / Summer when the nearby walks will be much more enjoyable. The only downside for us was that we wished we'd booked another night! Thank you everyone at the Fell for a lovely Christmas!

We stayed here for our anniversary, it’s a very nice place, with stunning views of the countryside and the river at Burnsall. We had a lovely room, good food, the staff were very welcoming. On checkout I mentioned that the water wasn’t hot on both occasions we used the bathroom, my husband had gone down to let them know the first time, the second time, it eventually came hot, through another guest reporting it to reception. An apology was given regarding the water, but no offer of a discount for the inconvenience. Aparantly there are 2 boilers and as there was high occupancy that evening, they needed to fire up the second boiler, I would have though that they would have had hindsight to this knowing what bookings they had for that evening. Breakfast was very good and the lovely man serving us was very attentive.
