Kirsty made us feel as if nothing was too much trouble. She really was kind and thoughtful. But she gave us our space and privacy too. Having homemade cake left for us when we got back every afternoon was a treat. A lovely place to stay - and the sheep are a hoot.

Just had an overnight stay at Elmfield House with two girlfriends. Kristie welcomed us with freshly brewed coffee and a choice of cake which we ate snuggled in front of the wood burner. Our rooms were spotlessly clean and spacious and lovely and warm. Signposted by Kirstie we walked the Leyburn shawl on Saturday afternoon and to Easby Abby in...

We are so pleased you and your friends enjoyed your stay with us. There are lots of lovely walks nearby (whether you are looking for a gentle stroll or something more challenging)! And after exploring the local countryside you all deserved coffee and extra cake in front of the wood-burning stove!Thank you for taking the time to review us and...

First visit to Yorkshire as a family, one night only, to visit friends in nearby Patrick Brompton. We chose Elmfield house after an internet search and after a quick email exchange with Kirsty, the owner. As we have a young family we were after a family room. Kirsty advised us this would not be a problem as they could set...

It was a real pleasure having you to stay and we are delighted you had such a nice time. We always love coming back to enjoy tea, hot chocolate and cake when we have been exploring in the woods, especially in the winter months! Something about the fresh air makes them taste even better! Definitely worth checking out if you wish to stay in the area and are looking for a comfortable B & B. Though the weather was cold, we were pleased the rooms were nice and warm, as indeed was the welcome! Nothing was too much trouble to ensure we had a comfortable stay. The breakfasts were excellent.

We are so delighted you enjoyed your stay. We are pleased you enjoyed a warm welcome and stay. I must admit the large wood burning stove in the conservatory helps! There is something very cosy about sitting by the fire on a cold day! Thank for taking the time to review us.

We visited here back in August as a delayed 25th wedding anniversary weekend away....delayed due to us having to postpone our original weekend here at the last minute due to my husbands work commitments. When speaking to Kirsty on the phone I realised then she was very friendly, most pleasant and very understanding when I had to rearrange our weekend....

This was our first visit to Elmfield house and it certainly won't be our last! A hidden gem! The breakfast was to a very high standard with plenty of choice for everyone. Our hostess even took the time to put some special bedtime story books in our room for my little girl who was thrilled. The room was large, clean...

Delicious tea and homemade cakes on arrival set the standard for a scrumptious breakfast. We were not disappointed – local produce including homemade jams and marmalade and eggs from their own hens. We had a large, comfortable twin room, with dual aspect over the garden and countryside. The tranquility of this B&B together with the great host and hostess and...

Thank you so much for the kind review. Being surrounded by fields and enjoying views over the paddocks where the rare-breed sheep graze and the free-range hens wander does mean we are indeed very fortunate with our surroundings, as well as having the woodland and lake which visitors can explore. And as you say we have a range of fabulous...

We were very pleased to find this B&B at short notice. A great welcome with tea and cake and the Lilac Room's super-kingsize bed was so comfortable after a day's walking.
