Fair haven deserves mor than 5 stars. Beautiful location, lovely room, comfy bed, more than adequate hospitality tray, great breakfast and the host was so helpful. Nothing is too much trouble. The aim is to give you the best experience. The reception when I arrived warm warm and welcoming and I was invited into the lounge for a drink after my journey. Highly recommended. I will return.

Decided to stay in June this year and really enjoyed it being day light until around 10pm so we could continue to explore and be outside late into the evening. Everything was perfect for our stay, rooms first class, perfect peaceful nights sleep and to wake to a beautifully freshly cooked breakfast with so much choice. The village whilst in the moors has plenty to offer too, shops, pubs, local railway, plenty of walks and not very far at all from the coast by a short drive. It is very difficult to describe how good a few days stay here is for the mind and soul and it is the owners who really make it so special. Thank you again.

From the minute we arrived Pete and Sarah were fabulous hosts. Nothing was too much trouble for them. The breakfast choice was wide and included a specials board - the food was lovely and plenty of it. The dining room allowed plenty of space for guests to be comfortable and to enjoy their food. They both made sure that all their guests were happy with their stay. We were in a twin upper room which had a fabulous outlook onto the local area. The room was spacious, warm, clean and had a nice en-suite. Tea making facilities were in the room plus a bottle of water - you got top-ups as needed. The main lounge area was large, spacious, very cosy and relaxing and had an open fire. The main lounge has a TV but TVs were also in the bedrooms. Carparking was at the rear of the house so cars were safe. I could probably say a lot more but will just add that I would highly recommend Fairhaven if you are thinking of staying in this area and I would definitely stay here again based on our experience

A warm welcome with a cup of tea and a homemade scone with cream and homemade Raspberry Jam, delicious!! The room was comfortable, spacious, everything you require. Breakfasts were great, with a lovely choice of specials. We enjoyed our last visit - we enjoyed this visit - we will no doubt enjoy another! Thank you for a wonderful few days.

What a lovely place to stay, both the village of Goathland and Fairhaven Guest House itself with easy access to the village. It also gives you access to the Coastliner bus service to Whitby and the North York Moors Railway which has a station in the village, as well as numerous and varied walks. Such a warm welcome, enhanced by a pot of tea and a home-made scone on arrival. The room was extremely comfortable, with a huge bed and fantastic views over the moors. There is a lovely residents' lounge and as they are licensed, you can sink into the sumptious sofas with a drink, should you so choose. The breakfasts are excellent with all the usual suspects on offer, supplemented by 2 or 3 daily specials - I thoroughly enjoyed the home-made (extremely light and fluffy) pancakes with maple syrup and crispy bacon as a lovely change from the norm. Pete and Sarah are tremendous hosts with a really good knowledge of the local area and things to do/visit whilst in the area. Top-notch and thoroughly recommended!

Myself and my father just recently returned from staying at Fairhaven for five nights (Wednesday to Sunday) to attend the North Yorkshire Moors Railway steam gala. Couldn't fault the room, the breakfast or the service we received whilst we stayed here. The owners, Pete and Sarah, are very welcoming to everyone. We were both new customers, but there are many regulars that stay here often, which must say something! We will return at some point, I'm sure.

The Fairhaven Guesthouse is well situated with lovely views from our rooms. The rooms were very clean and tidy including a good hospitality tray. Tea, coffee etc. The bathroom facilities were well appointed, very clean and warm. Breakfast was excellent with a good choice. The quality ingredients certainly showed. Our hosts, Pete and Sarah, were fantastic, offering us a much needed cuppa as soon as we walked in the door, after our 2 hour drive from Lincoln. We will certainly return next year.

We thought this was an exceptionally great B&B - the owners are lovely, our room was perfect and the breakfast was top notch. Beautiful setting, we didn't even venture out on our last night as we wanted to just sit and enjoy the view from the front garden. It's also in an ideal location for getting about by public transport.

Just returned to Fairhaven and has only got better ! Located in a peaceful Yorkshire village . The Guest House is a welcoming home from home . Immaculately clean ( and I’m fussy) , beds and fixtures and fittings good quality . The house is very tastefully decorated .The lounge and dining room so comfortable and pleasant to spend time in . A new addition since my last visit was the toiletries and they were gorgeous and good quality ,a touch of luxury. Sarah and Pete are just amazing hosts ,so attentive and welcoming but not over the top . The breakfasts are efficiently served and you are offered so much choice ,everything is hard to resist ! Cooked to perfection ,eggs to die for and daily specials are a treat you look forward to making deciding between having traditional cooked breakfast or something different. No one can be disappointed at Fairhaven!

We have just returned from our weekend at Fairhaven and we absolutely loved our stay. Peter and Sarah are very attentive hosts and made us feel very welcome and nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast each morning was lovely with different specials each day. The place was spotlessly clean and the bed was so comfortable we wish we could have stayed longer. If you are thinking of staying here…. Do it you won’t regret it. Thankyou for a memorable stay in the beautiful Goathland
