We stayed here on 9-12th Feb 2017 for 3 nights. The landlords Sarah and Andy only took over recently(end Jan 2017) and have already put their mark on the pub, they were very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble! The room was lovely and cleaned daily we could not get a taxi the first night and a local called...

My husband and I called in on a recommendation from family, haring that the pub is under new management. We were welcomed in on a chilly February evening with a lovely log fire burning in the hearth. My husband said his beer (Hobgoblin) was excellent and we both enjoyed our meals - the menu was good pub food clearly cooked...

This lovely village pub is under new management, and already some great changes have been made. The dining room is very welcoming with its lovely candles and flowers. Food excellent. We had the Sunday Roast - the beef was cooked to perfection, the accompanying vegetables absolutely delightful. Wishing Andy and Sarah all the best in their new venture - give...

I was travelling for business and booked my room at short notice through Hotel.com, and paid in full in advance. I stayed two nights. On the day I was due to arrive, I received a call asking me not to arrive until after 1800 as the pub would be closed until then. I was asked to pay when I arrived,...

Positives Manager helpful but obviously inexperienced at managing the Shoe Inn. Good central location Breakfast not bad Room ok if only staying one night. Negatives. (We stayed for 4 nights) Asked to pay on arrival (wish we hadn't! ) The manager and partner didn't seem to care about their guest.Breakfast had to fit in with the landlords commitments. Our room...

However we looked at the menu and there was a variety of choices I had Ribeye and my husband chose the gnocchi they were both delicious and we would definately go back there. The staff were friendly and every was...

Just returned from an impromptu 2 nights away in The Shoe Inn and thoroughly enjoyed it. The food was to die for! Top quality ingredients at a good price. The room was very clean and extremely comfortable and the staff/owners were a pleasure to get to know. If you're a light sleeper the traffic on the road outside may disturb...

Very small double room, no Ironing Board, Iron or Hairdryer in room although write up stated in room. Water left in kettle with limescale. Used soak on washbasin. One small very thin pillow each and no extra in wardrobe. 5.30am woken up by door slamming to outside, which slammed again 5 minutes later. Breakfast - very long wait, as chef...

We stayed at the Shoe Inn whilst attending a wedding nearby. Firstly the positives: 1. The Landlord - absolutely top man, went the extra mile in assisting us in finding the venue for the wedding reception, and couldn't have been more helpful or generous with his time (and petrol!). 2. The room and bathroom, well furnished, very clean, bed clothes...

To keep it short and straight to the point, the room was a good size and the bathroom was clean but the remote was missing from the TV and there was still water in the kettle from the previous occupants. Housekeeping not at it's best then. Our room overlooked the beer garden at the rear and we were subjected to...
