We stayed at The Grove recently as we were going to the NEC. A very warm and friendly welcome and Bill, our host, was helpful, in suggesting where to eat on the Friday night of our stay. Our room was very large and spacious as was the en suite. High standard of decor and furnishings. Bed so comfy as were the pillows. Very clean throughout. The NEC was no more than a five minute drive away and easy to get to. There is off road parking at the back of The Grove. Lovely homemade cooked breakfast- there is a choice of cereal, yogurt, fruit juice, tea, coffee and all that you would expect with a full English! Thanks Bill enjoyed our stay immensely and our chat over breakfast. This is a gem hidden away and a real pleasure to stay at.
I chose this B&B for my stay during a convention at the NEC, - big room, clean and very welcoming - staff: very friendly and helpful - but only took cash during my stay - food was really good, and host was very accommodating, there full english breadfast, other cooked breakfast options, fruit, yoghurt etc - travel to NEC very conventient, 900 bus route, £2.30 per journey
The owners were friendly,a homely B&B. The room was of very high standard, clean&fresh. The breakfast was outstanding. A great place to come back to after a very tiring conference at the NEC. I would recommend for others to stay there.
Enjoyed an excellent stay here, whilst attending a trade show at the NEC. Exceptionally comfortable room, which was considerably better appointed than most 4/5 star hotels. Spotlessly clean, with great attention to detail. Breakfast was similarly better than that found in most top hotels. We would happily stay there again, and indeed it will be the first check for availability for future visits to NEC.
Accommodations were absolutely charming for our one night stay as we headed away from London and visited the International Motorcycle Museum near the town of Meriden. Our room was on the second floor of the little guest cottage. It was furnished with a very comfortable king bed made up with exquisite linens. The tea tray was all set up with a variety of selections and included yummy cookies. Windows on two sides of the room allowed one to enjoy the sounds of nature interrupted occasionally by a car on the road. The bathroom was spotless and included nice cleansing products and a warming rack for towels. I don't know why this should surprise me but the room was furnished with handsome matching side tables, bureau, wardrobe and desk rather than the typical broken down fake antique so prevalent among guest houses. Our host asked us when we wanted breakfast rather than stating when it was to be served. It included fresh fruit, yogurt, cereal, coffee or tea and a choice of hot entrees -- my husband had scrambled eggs on toast. The meal was accompanied by the morning paper. Be advised, Cash, bank transfer or check only, no credit cards are accepted as payment upon departure. I could not find one thing to complain about and recommend this sweet spot highly. The Boars Head restaurant was within the distance of a short stroll and was wonderful as well.…
