Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Somers wood is located next to the Stonebridge golf course in a nice peaceful setting, despite being only a few minutes drive to the NEC and M6/M42 motorways. It's only a short walk into Meriden which has convenience stores, pubs, Fish and chip shop and restaruants to choose from. Meriden also lays claim to being the Historical centre of England which is marked as such on the green. If you enjoy canal walks you will find Hatton locks and the Kingsbridge junction near Lapworth of interest and not far away. There are many other wonderful places to visit in the area such as Warwick castle and you can find out more in the cute info hut at the campsite. So back to the campground, the pitches were nice and level with a decent amount of room for your caravan/motorhome and awning with enough space between you and the neighbours. The shower blocks were fantastic, spacious cubicles, warm, clean and a decent shower, no continuously pushing a button to get wet here !! The piped music is a nice touch to. The grounds are well maintained with nice touches all around, including the cute 'Bear' garden near the entrance and especially the bird feeders that attract the birds. They even sang for us ! (the birds that is not the staff, who were nice and friendly as well by the way !!) I can only imagine how nice it would be with the sun out, I guess we will have to return to find out one day.

What better place to restart our camping season than Somers Wood! Seeing Angie & Marc, Louise & Jon, Tracy & Simon again is like catching up with good friends as they are always so welcoming and helpful.
They have clearly all worked very hard during lockdown as there are now many more fully serviced pitches available, other areas have been given a makeover to give maximum space and well gravelled hard standing with or without well manicured grass alongside!!
The totally refurbished toilet & shower block, completed a few weeks before lockdown, is stunning: modern tasteful decor, superb showers with water you can control, spacious cubicles and everywhere spotlessly clean with all the current guidelines on anti-Covid measures taken very seriously.
Standards have always been high but everywhere looks even smarter & fresher than ever! So we’d like to say a huge congratulations and thank you to all the Somers Wood Team and wish you every success in the future. We will definitely see you all again soon!

Just arrived home having just spent two brilliant nights at Somers Wood.
Check in was easy, thanks to Tracy on reception.
We were given all the information needed on both the site, it’s facilities, and COVID .
Our pitches were a good size with hard standing, which were nice and level, which made the set up easy.
The toilet/ shower block were immaculate, warm, always clean, and were deep cleaned twice per day. The showers were one of the best we’ve used whilst camping, hot, and a good size with plenty of hooks to hang clothes.
Thanks to all at Somers Wood- we’ll be back.

This is a lovely quiet site surrounded by trees with modern facilities which are kept very clean by the wardens. (Will some adults leave the toilets as you would like to find them). The shower/dressing area is large with a big shelf with more than enough hooks for your toiletries and clothes. The staff are very friendly and helpful. There is a golf club within walking distance where you can visit for a meal (check the opening times especially in the winter months). The only negative thing I would say is that the site is very dark at nighttime and would suggest that you take a torch. We walked into Meriden and caught a bus to Birmingham and Coventry which run every 20 minutes. Would we stay here again? yes.

Thank you foreverroaming for a great review. We take on board what you say re the lighting. During lockdown we replaced quite a lot of the site lighting with solar powered lights. They haven’t proved a great choice during the Autumn, Winter months. We look forward to welcoming you back sometime soon 🥰

We have visited Somers Wood several times, it’s a handy stop off for us when travelling North or returning South to break a long journey and provides a peaceful restful stay. The staff team are always welcoming friendly and helpful, the pitches are well spaced and of a good size. The park is well planned and the trees provide good shelter and shade as well as a haven for birds. We have never had a problem with TV reception on site. The facilities are always spotless and a reasonably priced laundry on site is a real bonus. With a good road network and bus service nearby there is opportunity to visit local attractions easily. We look forward to returning soon

Stayed here 3 times now and all been in winter months. Really easy access all on main roads making it really easy to get there. Campsite is to the side of Stonebridge golf club but feels very secluded spot and I can't wait to see what it's like in summer as it will be even better.
All staff encountered very helpful and friendly. Pitches are a good size and not too close to each other. Loads of great walks and dog walk is brilliant. Wild birds everywhere and spotted woodpecker feeding from the many bird stations.
Great pubs and shops about a mile away in Meriden and many others in Barston, Dorridge and Chadwick End as all a short drive away. Plus very easy access to NEC and Resorts World with everything you would need.
Adults only ground so nice and peaceful. Heard the Golf Club does great food, Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner and dogs welcome but not tried it yet.
They just had shower block and toilets redone and looked great. Obviously a lot of hard work goes into keeping it looking the way it does. Be back again soon.

It was with a sad heart that we could not finish our much wanted holiday due to my wife illness.
The site was just fantastic and the shower/toilet block was second to none, the owners of the site were extremely sympathetic about our problem.
We could not have asked for a better service, thank you to all off the staff and to the owners.

If you are looking for a beautiful peaceful site this one comes highly recommended.

Thank you Somers Wood.

A 5 star campsite, pitches are large and easily accessible. The toilet block is one of the cleanest we have used, even get music in them which is a lovely touch.. The washing up facilities are very good all under cover with a washer and a dryer in the building too. Wonderful staff who are very friendly and helpful. Great location for NEC and Birmingham. A gem of a site.

My husband and I booked a one night stay at Somers wood and it is a gem of a site. So quiet and peaceful and the showers and toilet facilities were absolutely spotless and smelt amazing. The staff worked really hard to keep them spotless. Will definitely be returning and highly recommend staying to anyone. Keep up the good work and a massive pay on the back to all the staff that made us feel safe and comfortable.

There is a bus (I'm sure it's the X1) from the green in Meriden (a short walk from site) that takes you to the NEC, or close by. You can check the nxbus website for their times or download the NX West Midlands App which I use for bus stops and times.
