Swattesfield Campsite is a seven acre site with plenty of space yet an intimate feel. There are around 15 tent and campervan pitches alongside a range of glamping options from our 3 bell tents, 2 pixie huts and our hand converted Suffolk hay cart. There really is no reason to stay away!

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Lovely little campsite, quite basic facilities, but that’s all we need. So much nicer than big, glossy, regimented sites. Nice and quiet midweek, mid September. Find a spot you fancy and pitch up. Hire a fire pit, buy some logs, sit and watch the sunset and warm your toes while glugging a bottle or two of wine. Lovely friendly welcome, great dog walks, off road, straight from the site. Pub close enough to walk to, far enough away that you feel you’ve earned your beer. Thanks Jess!

Small enough to be cosy, big enough to have good facilities. Clean, functional bathrooms and wash up area, water points conveniently around the fields. Friendly owners who are on hand to help. See the Milky Way on a clear night and listen to tawny owls in the trees. We saw dozens of bats, huge dragonflies, a toad and some friendly ducks! Highly recommend! Easy walk through the woods to Thornham Walks cafe/play area and art galleries.

We booked last minute to test out our new campervan and so glad we landed this beautiful site. We turned up about 6pm and spoke with the lovely Jess who showed us around the facilities. Fully equipt kitchen area with pots, pans and kettles. Fuseball table, benches and electric charging area. All the water on site is drinking water which was so helpful. The toilet and shower cubicles were in great condition, my very picky daughter had no problem using the toilet facilities. We hired a firepit with wood which Jess bought down to us. We had a lovely walk up into the woods in the morning before we left. Its a great place to visit to unwind in a no frills secluded site. Cant wait to return.

A wonderful, friendly, wild camping style experience with the perk of an outdoor kitchen facility if you wanted it. Very peaceful with beautiful surroundings. Dog friendly and owners more than accommodating & welcoming. Highly recommend local walk to Thornham Estate ((cafe) and we had a cheeky Chinese from Eye! Shhh.

A campsite that offers a simple escape but with all the little extras that make it an enjoyable and comfortable stay. Beautiful site, lots of space, woodland area to camp in and explore, clean and pleasant facilities. The shared kitchen with table football was a real bonus too! Loved it all! We will definitely be returning!

Beautiful campsite, fully equipped to your needs. A kitchen area provides hobs, kettles, electricity for devices and other essentials which made our experience an easier one than it could have been. The owners are very friendly and accommodating and run a small shop full of camping essentials. When one of tents failed, the owners kindly and promptly erected one of their spacious rental tents! The children loved it, not least because of the wonderful wooded area and fire pits where they toasted marshmallows.

Was one of my favourite breaks, had the best time with family of 20 of us, everything camping wise catered for, pizza oven, bbqs, fire pits, toilet and shower block, kids had so much fun and loved the woods, Jess and her dad were very helpful, still a very much Camping vibe even though it was glamping which i loved, loved our big Bell tent and the pixie huts and hay carts were so cute.

This is the 3rd time we've stayed at Swattesfield and it never fails to impress. It's safe for children and there's a lovely walk to Thornham Magna estate. We stay here when visiting family normally once a year but if it was closer to us we would definitely stay more often. Thanks for being such great hosts.
