Nice enough place, good size room, comfy bed and decent parking. Only slight negative was the size of the full English breakfast, more like a childs portion than an adults, which was a shame as the ingredients and quality were great. Also breakfast window on a Sunday was 8.30 to 9am, which didn't leave much time for a lay in after a late night. The Manager was a bit grouchy and not overly friendly.

VENUE - The venue was extremely pleasant and very well decorated. The restaurant was laid out nicely and there was no sense of over crowding or cramped conditions. Food - The food served during the Sunday lunch was extremely good. There was no complaints regarding the food. Drink choices are slightly limited with no alcohol on draught, instead in cans and bottles. Staff - The staff here were accommodating, there was one member of staff who came across as rude and very blunt. However, the owner of the business was very helpful and nothing was too much. Price - The price of the food was reasonable given the quality. However, drinks were slightly higher than average due to the drinks being in bottles and cans. Overall - 4/5 Only improvement would be for the one colleague to improve their tone with customers.

The room and bed were very comfortable and the breakfasts generous and well cooked. I arrived on a Sunday, the restaurant wasn’t open so I was booked into the local Italian restaurant in Ilchester. The hotel is an Ideal location on the outskirts of Yeovil. I would stay there again.

Fantastically welcoming Hotel. Great hosts. Great Restaurant. Owners Mark & Mel, can't do enough for you. Parts of the hotel date back to the 13th century. Close by is Ham Hill, the site of a very large Bronze Age and Iron Age hill fort of the Durotriges tribe, from the 1st century BC. The hill was captured around AD 45 by the Roman Second Legion. We learned all this in 2 our day stay! Surrounded by beautiful historic countryside, we are looking forward to our next visit.

What a fantastic weekend I have just spent in this hotel. The service, the rooms, the food and the staff - all 5 🌟 star. A special thanks to Flick and to Mark and the team, who bent over backwards to make sure our group had a great time. Nothing was too much trouble. The team anticipated our wants and needs before we had even thought about it. Exceptional value for money- a 5 star experience without the 5 star prices! A huge thank you. Sarah Cahoon

We stumbled across this lovely hotel almost by accident, and we were thrilled ! The moment you arrive the whole overnight experience is joyful. Really friendly and helpful team working there. We stayed in for supper which was delicious and beautifully served, as was breakfast too. Tasteful decor. Loads of free parking. Nothing more to say except anyone staying here will be lucky. Thanks.

I stayed here for one night, whilst visiting friends. The hotel is clean, comfortable and provides a first rate breakfast. All the staff are really helpful, polite and happy to help you out at any time. The room rate for bed and breakfast was really good value, if not slightly lower than you would expect for a hotel of this nature. Highly recommended.

About halfway between London and West Cornwall so good for an overnight on the way. We were a bit doubtful as the cost was less than half we have paid for most hotels in recent months but we had no complaints. Room a decent size although the en-suite was cramped. I have read about hotel guests stealing the sink plugs, so l guess that’s why there wasn’t one. I have stayed in something like a thousand hotels and this was the first one without a breakfast menu but what we wanted was fresh cooked and tasty. Would be happy to return but next time will ask for a room away from the B road that passes close by.
