Detailed Reviews
The campsite is great, we had plenty of space to pitch and it was so good having a playground for the kids within the field where the tents are. The kids playroom was lovely too. We really enjoyed exploring the woodland around the campsite. We had a non electric pitch but there are lots of electric pitches. The reception is open twice a day in the morning and evening, there is a sign at the campsite entrance with where you are to pitch. The shop was good and the boys really enjoyed being able to get ice lollies.
The showers were good but the toilet blocks got quite dirty often, when they were cleaned by the staff member they were good though; perhaps leaving a mop bucket in the toilets that we could use ourselves would have helped.
Overall though we had a really great stay and would recommend to other families.

First impression... Wow! It exceeded our expectations of what we envisioned a Christmas Cabin to be. The cabin was warm throughout right from when we arrived despite this being in the middle of winter, it was the most comfortable holiday let I've stayed in. It was deceivingly large inside and would easily accommodate 6. If you want to get away from everyday life, it is perfect. Peaceful & Quiet, with some lovely countryside surrounding. The surrounding woodland {Christmas Tree} area was a highlight with a footpath through and even a den building area, which we had some fun with. The only downside is, if you're planning on a big meal to cook like we did for Christmas Dinner, be aware that it will take a lot of cooking time as this is a cylinder gas oven, but this will not be a problem almost any other time as the kitchen was generally very well equipped.

We had a fantastic weekend in one of their log cabins. I contacted the owner a couple of days before we were to arrive to ask for a late checkout, which was not a problem at all. We were emailed with all the arrival information we needed, location, access etc. Lovely cabin, a plate of rocky road👍👍. The cabin was lovely and warm, very efficient boiler. 3 comfortable bedrooms, good size lounge and kitchen with everything you needed. Lovely walks around the site the dogs loved it, kids loved the den making in the forest. It's so quiet and relaxing, and Robert is very helpful, lovely chap. Thanks guys, we'll be back soon👍👍👍

We stayed here with a group of friends adults and children.
Children loved it, it’s very spacious, tent pitches are huge and clean.
There is a park which is perfect for children, spacious football pitch with goals, Childrens playroom that is filled with board games, football table, arts and crafts, big blackboard and chalk, books etc,
Reception is stocked with a few essentials and has a fridge freezer stocked with ice pops and so on.
But hasn’t got ice etc so advice to do a shop in one of the nearby towns.
Facilities were quiet dated - ladies toilets were very dated and needed a freshen up, 20p to use the very dated electric shower for 5 minutes was a bit odd, we have camped for many years and never paid for shower facilities separately.
I know it’s the countryside but the spiders and bug in bathrooms were unbelievable, maybes leave a mop and bucket in bathroom
For people to clean up with after shower.
The dish washing area didn’t have a working light the whole time we were there and was very small for use from a whole campsite.
The woodland walk and woods were brilliant kids loved it.
My husband threw some rubbish in the bins on our first night and the owner drove round to our pitch and threw the bags out of his car and asked if they were ours, we replied yes and he said we’ll have them back and threw them at my husbands feet, he said he doesn’t see why he should sort through peoples rubbish. Yes our party had just put everything in the same bin bag and binned it.
So it probs could of been sorted into recycling our mistake, however there is a way to talk to people and that wasn’t it……..
On our first day of a 4 night stay, doesn’t look good when the owner is ranting at the customers and we weren’t the only ones he was ranting at.
The next day my husband said good morning and his reply back was I hate people why do you all
Make so much mess…..
Very odd!!!
Everyone has there moments but he is running a camp site, expect mess and clean up and although you might not like it you have to do it with a smile on your face.
Plenty to do round the area.
Recommend uncle Henry’s maze and rand park farm for days out all about 20 minutes drive away. There’s a nice local butcher for bbq needs and a tescos extra about 25 minutes drive away or a coop about 10 minutes drive away.
Keep an eye on the Facebook page as there is a pizza van, fish and chip van, coffee van and others they pitched up weekly, there’s also a wood craft workshop for kids that you can book.
Overall spacious pitches, plenty of space for children to play and enough to keep them entertained. Facilities need a update and the gentleman owner needs to take some lessons in customer services.
Unfortunately it isn’t somewhere Our party would return too……

We stayed for bank holiday weekend as a family with two kids age 7&8. It’s a beautiful site, we stayed in the family field, the rally field was next door (only divided by a hedge).
The pros were- beautiful, relaxed, great play area for the kids, pizza van on Sunday night.
Cons
Often no toilet roll- despite repeatedly telling the staff/owners.
Only 2 female showers for the full site, only 1 working most of the weekend and at one point neither working.
Not walking distance to anywhere (for a family, adults might be happy to brave the roads?)
We would go back, but take our own loo roll...

We came here for a two night stay, the pitch size was fantastic with plenty of space and electric hookup fantastic. Unfortunately this is were it ends, the owner is the most miserable, bad tempered cantankerous person I've met in some time, constantly moaning about rubbish/use of hand soap/ use of paper towels. The showering facilities have long since seen there best. The showers run of a 20p coin for 5 minutes, the resulting moneys worth is either a dribble of water or water so hot its unusable. The cleanliness of the shower area is also something to be desired. All in all would never return to this site.

The site itself is lovely, it's snuggled down a country lane lined with ' Christmas trees'. The pitches are well sized with both electric and non electric pitches.
The down side for me was the facilities, I've been a few times and nothing has ever changed. There are outdated and desperate for updating. You have to pay 20p for the a old outdated electric shower. There are also only 2 per gender which is just not enough. The kitchen area is also tiny with only 2 sinks and the light never worked. I ended up in the pitch black washing pots!
It's such a gem of a site and deserves better facilities. Surely when it's out of season re building these facilities would bring more custom and I for one would happily pay more per night for this.

We have just left our 2 night stay in the sir isaac newton log cabin. It was beautiful, homely, comfy and more then we expected. Lots of room, cupboard space, fab little kitchen and bathroom. On arrival the cabin smelt lovely and clean, you can see the owners take great pride in their properties. The owners were lovely and friendly. We will definitely be back for a longer stay in the near future!

The location is lovely but as soon as we got there an employee or it could of been the owner started to shout at me. I was lost and confused and couldn’t find where I was to pitch my tent. We finally found our friends and pitched our tent. We were talking and listening to music at a very low level the same person came over and was really rude told us to turn the music off and go to bed as it was 10:30. He was the same with us the next day being confrontational and rude towards us even when we were making enquiries. I will never go here again if he still owns or works here and would advise anyone not too.

Nice campsite! Has a lovely woodland feel. We stayed on pitch 5 in conifer corner, which is small and quiet. Co-op 10 minutes drive away.
Pitches lovely and big, lots of room to set up how you like.
Small shop on site with a few essentials. Takes card. Very limited opening hours restricted to an hour in the morning and the evening, a lunchtime hour for icecreams and cold drinks would be useful during peak season.
Facities clean but in need of an upgrade. Especially the men's toilets. Drinking water tap drain blocked in conifer corner. Phone signal is bad if you rely on Google maps ect.
Owner comes out occasionally to find things to tell people off for but we never seemed to be in the line of fire. Though he does seem to want children of all ages supervised everywhere on site which is a bit unnecessary when your kids are older.

Yes, there are bricks at the end of the field to put under them so they don't damage the grass
