We last stayed here 10 years ago so there have been some changes. Very welcoming entrance. Restaurant a very smart wedding area but not overwhelming while having breakfast. Dinner served in bar area. Very well laid out and bar welcoming for villagers having a night out and for us visitors. Nice to see, often locals arenpushed out. Food fantastic I enjoyed a pasta dish and a burger, not my usual choices and both converted.me. Breakfast was very good too. Poached egg, hollandaise and spinach....Best I've ever eaten. Staff were efficient and friendly, We had a great break.

Having stayed at the hotel before, we knew that it would be warm, spotless and welcoming. Situated so well to several lovely beaches and interesting places to visit, we started each of our 4 days with a good selection of cooked breakfasts with local, fresh produce. A re - opened restaurant meant that we could relax each evening and enjoy dinner without leaving the hotel. Well presented, a very good menu, personal and friendly service ….and big portions! Go hungry and definitely don’t miss the roast! We spent quiet evenings by the fire in the lounge area - post Christmas, we expected that. Surprised that New Years Eve wasn’t a bit more jolly. Maybe all the locals were at another party? Our room was big, warm and comfortable - the only small gripe is that we had staff bedrooms above us, so a bit noisy early mornings and late nights. We got used to it - but it might not suit some people. Absolutely would return to this lovely part of Norfolk and wish the owner and her lovely staff a successful 2024.

I am so pleased to report that my husband and I have just enjoyed a lovely lunch at the King’s Head in Bircham. The bar area is so welcoming and so tastefully decorated. The fire was roaring and the whole establishment felt warm and inviting. We were served for both drinks and food by the wonderful Joseph. His professionalism was outstanding and he was a pleasure to converse with. The vegetarian food that we opted for was absolutely lovely - compliments to the chef. We will return…very soon. Thank you to everyone involved! An amazing job!

Such a lovely place , decor is beautiful, the wood burner makes the lounge area feel very cosy…,,I have given 3 stars on menu options only, as I wanted a vegan dish and was told this wasn’t possible, my partner and I had a drink and left to find somewhere more accommodating which was such a shame as everything else about the place was 5 star(come on chefs please adapt menus for all diets )I will return if and when I can I can enjoy a drink AND a meal

My husband and I were staying for the weekend in Great Bircham. We had heard that the Kings Head were now doing meals again and so we booked for dinner on the Saturday evening. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal, so much so that we booked again for lunch on the Sunday. We couldn’t fault the food at all - generous portions, quality ingredients and beautifully cooked. We’ve spread the word to our friends and will definitely be returning again. Well done!

I stayed here as a last minute business trip as a solo traveler. The Kings Head Country Hotel is nestled in a beautiful village and in wonderful surroundings. Big car park to the rear. Staff were very welcoming on check in. Check in was seamless. Bedroom was spotlessly clean and warm. The food was delicious. Great choice and reasonably priced. Would highly recommend staying and dining here.

We have stayed here several times before and always enjoyed our visit. However, on this occasion we felt that several things need attention. To start with the positives, our room was large, nicely decorated and the bed very comfortable. We also had a sofa and armchair. The young man on reception when we arrived was very pleasant and welcoming. Now for the negatives. They are still without a chef so no evening meals. We had already made other plans so did not affect us but there are no other eating places in the immediate area for those not wanting to venture out in the evening. Breakfast left a lot to be desired. There seemed to be only 2 staff doing the serving and reception and they seemed very stressed. One said it was because everyone was coming down at the same time. Why not have a staggered system which a lot of hotels now have. You book your slot the night before. I poured milk into my coffee and it immediately curdled. I asked for more and there was no apology, neither was I offered a fresh pot of coffee. Service was definitely lacking as the 2 women seemed unable to cope. We stay at money hotels and, for what they charge, they definitely need to up their game
