Welcome to The Kings Head Country Hotel, a very warm welcome to the family-run Kings Head Hotel. Built in the Edwardian era, the hotel combines all the traditional warmth and comfort of a long established country house hotel with sleek contemporary facilities. The hotel is located on the great estate of Royal Sandringham and close to the Houghton estate, also offering easy access to the North Norfolk Coast the Kings Head is very well worth a visit.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is a clean and bright hotel in a lovely little village. The bed was very comfortable and the room had everything needed. Nice complimentary toiletries and a good hot shower with soft towels. Everyone in the hotel the owner , receptionist Lisa, and the cleaning ladies were all friendly and helpful and worked so hard. They are advertising for staff but in these difficult times everybody was multitasking to ensure the guests were looked after. The food, breakfast and meals were all freshly cooked and delicious. We hope to return.

As a recent vegetarian I have food out disappointing- not at the kings head!! Superb food, which we both enjoyed. Large, comfortable clean room. Friendly staff. Great location for exploring north Norfolk, we visited houghton hall, burnham market and brancaster beach (massive open space). Sandringham is close by too.

Dreadful experience from start to finish. We waited 45 minutes for our main meal despite being called to our table. When it arrived the fish meal was ruined as it had been sat under the hot plate for too long and the fish cakes were inedible as too salty. On complaining the watiter didn’t know what to do and the manager was useless bordering on rude. He couldn’t care less, with the exception of the waitress who did care the staff are untrained and unmanaged. This place is soulless has no charm and is in need of decent management. Needless to say we abandoned dinner that evening. Travellers would do well to avoid.

This is a charming little hotel we stayed for a night in Norfolk. My sister and I got twin beds and they were super comfy. Nice decorated rooms with two windows, bathtub and all amenities, including hairdryer, iron, shampoo, gel etc. It was also very clean. The only thing was that the curtains were a bit too forward from the window itself so light still came in and you could see outside by the side when it closed. Not a big issue though. The checkin and checkout was so quick and speedy as well. It is set in a very nice picturesque area of Norfolk with Sandringham really close, the beaches in Hunstanton and Houghton hall. It is better to have a car to get around these places as public transport is basically non-existent. Breakfast was amazing, fresh made to order dishes, we got

We recently spent four nights at this friendly hotel. Our deluxe room was large and equipped with everything needed to ensure a comfortable stay. The bathroom was also nice, especially the heated towel rail! We appreciated the daily replenishing of room and bathroom items, i.e. coffee, tea, shampoo etc. No problems with WiFi, worked efficiently. We had dinner in the bar each night as the food was very good. However, evidenced by a staff shortage, the service unfortunately was hit and miss. There was a lack of coordination in who did what, where and when! We frequently had a lengthy wait, either to order our meal or wait for it to make it to the table. Still, we were patient and the food both at dinner and breakfast was worth the wait. The staff work hard and are very

Faultless on arrival check in was smooth, personally shown upto room, (not just your rooms up the stairs, turn left walk to the endof the hallway etc etc). On walking into the room we were both blown away, simple but very very spacious and comfortable, we hadnt booked evening meal but they were easy able to accomodate.... if you like a drink prior or with your meal the bar is extensive (gin has three shelves alone). The menu has ample choice, but not so much that your lost for what to have, and the actual portion and food quality was impossible to fault, so good that we rather than looking elsewhere ate there all three nights - then breakfast ive spent much more £££ on hotels and the breakfasts have disapointed - not here, its not a get up and fumble for bowls etc... rather sit

Stayed 3 nights in August 2021. Whilst exterior of hotel and grounds look and are impressive our Room was desperately in need of some TLC and a revamp. Food was nothing special - I had a beef burger and I had 3 lots of gristle 🤢 The food was most definitely overpriced and overrated

Just had a wonderful stay at this gem of a hotel. Set in beautiful countryside we enjoyed every aspect of the Kings Head. Staff were very welcoming when we arrived and explained all those little details you need to know to enjoy your stay. The hotel is very smart with a great, well stocked bar as well as a comfortable dining room and lovely outdoor area. We had dinner at the hotel and the food was was so delicious and very reasonable for the quality. The selection at breakfast was amazing, thoroughly recommend it. We will definitely be returning - hopefully soon.

I wrote a review in June when we stayed but can’t find it on here! So I must repeat that we had a great stay with excellent service from Sandra and staff especially Kieran who was very people friendly with a great wit! The breakfasts were extensive and very good. The best weve ever had on a B&B basis. We also had evening meal on two occasions. Bar prices were a little expensive but service was excellent. We will be returning!
