Welcome to The Kings Head Country Hotel, a very warm welcome to the family-run Kings Head Hotel. Built in the Edwardian era, the hotel combines all the traditional warmth and comfort of a long established country house hotel with sleek contemporary facilities. The hotel is located on the great estate of Royal Sandringham and close to the Houghton estate, also offering easy access to the North Norfolk Coast the Kings Head is very well worth a visit.

We have just spent 2 nights in this lovely rural hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They went the extra mile to provide us with a charge for our EV, even though there is no point on site, they provided an extension cable for an overnight trickle charge. The hotel was clean and well presented. The food was excellent, a wide selection of breakfast dishes was available and the evening meals were of a high standard. Service throughout could not be faulted. This was our first stay and look forward to returning at some point in the future. We would have liked to stay an extra night but they were fully booked.

Great place to stay. Lovely rural hotel. Very Covid secure. Stayed here Sept 2020 for 1 night and enjoyed it so much we returned this time for 2 nights. On arrival a really warm welcome was found and then shown to our spacious room overlooking the fields. Plenty of Complimentary Tea/Coffee/chocolate and biscuits. Luxury toiletries. We chose to eat in the restaurant as we had done so previously. I had the see food platter, Hake, scallops, goujons. King prawns also on the platter but chose to substitute these . My food was cooked to perfection the scallops melted in your mouth, the hake was moist and not a bone to be found. The Goujons were so light and crispy. Hubby had the Chicken Supreme. We were told that there would be a wait for this as it was freshly cooked to order. It…

We went for Afternoon Tea at The King’s Head, Bircham, Norfolk this afternoon to celebrate my husbands 74th birthday. The staff were very welcoming and friendly serving up a delicious afternoon tea. There was a minor issue in that I had ordered the afternoon tea with Prosecco, expecting a glass of Prosecco with our afternoon tea. The young man brought a bottle of Prosecco in an ice bucket and left it at the table so I assumed rather than a glass of wine the bottle was included in the package. I was unprepared and surprised at this as my husband will not drink more than one small glass of anything when he is driving. However as it was left at the table I didn’t want to waste it so continued drinking it over a 2 hour period. When it came to paying the balance, 50% deposit on…

Having stayed at this hotel a few years ago we were looking forward to returning. Post Covid and with new owners it was not quite the same. We had booked a superior room, we were given room 9, but were surprised at how little space there was between the bed and the walls. The bath/shower required a young and athletic occupant as it was so high, it was not a safe design. Their Covid practice was not to enter the room post guest arrival. This meant that the bed was not made, the towels were not replaced, the coffees etc were not replenished and the rubbish bins were not emptied. I did collect fresh towels from reception. Luckily this is not standard practice for other hotels we have recently visited where you could request staff did not enter your room if you wished. The…

Went for father's day after seeing Fathers day advertised. 20 minutes for our drunk order to be taken! Then a hour and a half for our mains to arrive. The barman did apologise but no explanation …it wasn't packed ! Food came i had roast beef , the yorkshire was flat! Like a cookie! 4 carrots. no veg !! Just cauliflower cheese . Load of roasties. Later my son and partner went and he said he just wanted a nice roast … got plate of 2 slices of chicken plate of parsnips and 2 roasties! When barman was spoken to .. he was told they had ran out of veg !!! The chef had forgotten it was fathers day ! We live local and was supprised at the whole service. Over 250 in totally not good meals.:-( Not good.

We stayed here last week as part of a cycling holiday. It was so good to arrive at a hotel, tired from cycling, to be greeted with a warm welcome and shown to a lovely room. Not huge but like the rest of the hotel it was tasteful, clean and totally relaxing. And the food is and wine is excellent. Lovely staff too. I definitely recommend a stay here.

Of Norfolk. We had a superb 56 th wedding Anniversary weekend stay here and it was fantastic, a real breath of fresh air in these difficult times. We were greeted by the lovely Lisa on reception who most helpful at all times. The human dynamo who is in command is the charismatic Sandra a true leader, on the bar we had Graham and Bethany Rose ( B) always happy an attentive. Sandras husband Keith was always on hand to pitch in when needed too. The dining was world class, truly superb menu and cooked to perfection , the food was served by the stars of the hotel " The chuckle brothers " AKA Kieron and his younger brother Josh , Josh was always on hand with the tomato ketchup !!!!! Another weekend waitress was the charming Bethany number 2. The rooms were clean on our arrival and…

Despite being the only residents, we had a very enjoyable one night stay. Our room was small but cosy and warm. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. We had eaten here before and enjoyed the food and were not disappointed on this occasion! My starter of smoked salmon mousse and my main course of hake were delicious. My poached eggs at breakfast were done to perfection. We ate in the bar which was very cosy . Will definitely stay again.

We paid extra for a superior room and it was spacious. Free Prosecco with the deal on arrival. The heating only came on at certain times. I was a bit cold in the night. Looked for a blanket in the many cupboards and drawers but none there. I could have asked though. No cleaning done which was fine but had to ask a number of times for additional coffee and milk as not many were left in the room. No fridge. WiFi non existent in our room. Breakfast was good; tasty, with a varied choice. We had booked a deal where we got an evening meal included. It was a separate menu to the proper restaurant menu and it was not good. The choices were poor and very weird and the food was not good quality (apart from the dessert). Two courses only. Felt very much like the ‘poor relation’! The pub…
