What can I say my husband wanted to surprise me with alittle get away for our anniversary, it looked lovely in the pictures and as we pulled up it was alittle dark and the outside looked very lovely. We headed into the hotel lobby which was very clean looking and was greeted by a very nice man who was very helpful, He explained that the kitchen a d yhe bar was closed because of cover but we could order food in and handed us two paper cups and 2 plastic bags with coffee and sugar in it handed us our key and off we went up to our room . As we opened the door to our room We were alittle shocked at the decor is was very dated. As we started to unpack we were noticing more and more things wrong (ie chips in the bath , curtains ripped and had holes in , missing draws, no phone , one lamp in room, and the shower wouldn't stay in up so you had to hold it up. The bed was slightly tilted so had to sleep upside down also there was only one pillow each when my husband ask if we could have another pillow they said the would have a look my husband had to go down two times to see want was happening and they said sorry we have no more pillows as the hotel was fully booked up. Also the next morning the fire alarm went off at 8am no one knew why and the only reason we found out it was a false alarm was because one of the guests when down to find out at reception and came back up tell all the rest of the guests that were hang out of there room door it was a false alarm. As for refreshments my husband asked for 4 bottles of beer to then get told the price was £19.95 we live in London so are use to high prices but have never paid that much for 4 bottles of beer and I have been to alot of 5 star restaurant and never paid that much total gobsmacked.

I arrived quite late 9pm for check in. The lady receptionist was friendly and polite. I had requested a non smoking room, and a room that was not too warm, the booking was made on-line. When I got to The room, the 2 Windows were open and the heater was on low. Just as I had requested. The room is functional it was clean. It was exact what ideas looking for, sleep and run. I did not use any other facilities, so cannot comment.

The lovely Welsh lady we first met at reception made us feel very welcome. It was slightly downhill from there. Tired rooms, stained carpets, wallpaper hanging off etc.
When it came to breakfast, which was all you can eat for £5, was good. The "head receptionist" as she referred to herself was arrogant and made us feel quite uncomfortable. She refused to serve a glass of orange juice minutes after breakfast - just by saying "no, breakfast is over!"
The housekeeping staff were also very friendly.

Dear nimnim123, Thank you for your review. I am sorry to read about the experience at reception on the day of departure. This is certainly not a reflection of the usual high standards of customer service we strive to provide and your feedback has been passed on to the relevant team to be reviewed. I would like to thank you for the kind comment about the friendliness of the housekeeping team and well for the good value for money that we provide. We hope to have the chance to welcome you again in the future. Kind regards, Matthew Bardsley

Stayed here a few times now in different rooms. All of which are clean tidy and functional. A bonus is the large flat screen tv.
Public areas are always clean and tidy, reception always cheerful and helpful.
A refurb of some areas would help to further enhance the offer.
Bar dining is ok. Food offer basic but good quality. Good selection of beers, wines and spirits.
Breakfast is now a buffet style offering which is great value for money.
Look forward to seeing the upcoming afternoon tea.
Overall I would definitely stay again.

Myself and a colleague booked a twin room as we were working locally for the week and needed to keep cost down, Having booked through Hotels Uk for 3 nights we subsequently had to book an additional night through Booking.Com as the job had been extended. On arrival we were shown to our room which is without question the worst I have ever stayed at. The mould and damp in the bathroom was almost unbelievable in addition the bedroom was also damp. We immediately spoke to the staff only to be told that the bedrooms and bathrooms were being ripped out the following month and there was nothing else available. As we had no other choice but to stayed I continued to complain and as a result they reduced the bill by 20% following this however they made no attempt to come and attempt to clean the bathroom. Having put up with the room for 3 nights we attempted to cancel the last night as we’d had enough. This was met with a complete blank from the staff stating they would not cancel the room as it had been booked through a third party. Bookings.com attempted to get the hotel to cancel the charge but without success. DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL!!! It is disgusting

Rooms tired and need a complete refurb. Stains on walls carpets and furniture falling apart, room dirty and just not ready and to top it all the bathroom set was Olive green in colour so we know how old that is. The road noise through the damaged window that wouldn’t close properly because it was rotten also made the room just feel dirty along with the peeling wallpaper and stained walls.
Went to the restaurant early as I was feeling peckish and ordered a salad and side of chips, who puts anchovies on a Caesar Salad? Asked for Chicken as a extra and it was dry and clearly a few days old couldn’t eat it. Music from the bar played quite loudly until 10-45pm. Apart from that over charged at £60 per night next time I’ll go to a Premier Inn. Avoid if you can,

The hotel is in the process of renovation. I originally booked a standard room, this was not a good room, in serious need of deep cleaning and renovation and would have not been value for money at all. However, thankfully there was a minor issue with the bathroom lighting and the staff kindly moved us to a refurbished room. This room was worth the money, clean and new, with the exception of the rain shower head which had not been cleaned or descaled, a shame for a newly renovated room. There were no restaurant facilities available due to the refurbishment, but a great pub is situated less than a minute walk next door.

The staff were friendly and helpful, lots of evidence of Covid awareness on check-in.

The car parking entry is easy to miss if your not concentrating but appears safe.

I've stayed at the Almondsbury quite a few times and room allocation is the luck of the draw! Sometimes the rooms are quite spacious and well appointed and sometimes they are somewhat dingy and in need of refurbishment. My recent visit was the latter! The room was tucked away to the left of reception and although it was clean It definitely needed some TLC. The breakfast was adequate for £5. All in all the Almondsbury is starting to show signs of decline, which is a shame as it's ideally located for access to Bristol and Motorways

Traveling for work as a young female you look for a place that is safe with parking.
I booked into this hotel and went to check it.

They started my trip by giving me the wrong room and key!
I walked into a room which someone else was in bed and there bags where there!
Went down to let reception know, not even an apology.
Walking into a room with someone in it Is not nice and to be met with a staff member who's response is 'well we are fully booked tonight so I'll have to see what I can do is not good enough.'
No apology, no meal compensation or even a drink. Terrible service.

Secondly the room is shocking, black mold in the bathroom. Shower went from hot to cold and not to mention the pictures online are nothing like the actual room.

On top of that the lock on my door doesn't even work.

DO NOT BOOK.

I have attached 4 pictures of what the room is meant to look like. Followed by what I have actually received. If Wish.com did hotels this is what you would receive.

This hotel has no problem giving rooms out when there are unnecessarily loud renovations by cowboy builders happening in the rooms above. I asked to change rooms and they gave me one that stank of paint. Air con not working in either room and even if I wasn't on night shifts I would have been woken up anyway. Another guest had water leaking through his roof after being moved once already. Breakfast is nice but the dinners are bland and overpriced. The hotel probably think the price is justified because they serve small protions on slabs of wood. This hotel is trend over substance and I don't recommend staying here. Staff are friendly but management are having a laugh.
