Yet again walked out of this pub. Sunny day 1 person behind the bar slowly serving cakes making tea and coffee as a queue builds up. Most people gave up too. One guy said 'you got a bit of a queue building up' the barman responded 'always, I'm here all night'. Nice one. Avoid

If you like modern hotels with clean, antiseptic rooms and facilities this hotel is not for you. It's passed it's prime, but on the flip side has character and friendly staff. The beds (I've been twice) which are bigger than average are comfortable with crisp linen sheets, showers were hot with proper thermostatic control and powerful. The included breakfast will...

I came down to Brighton for work & booked a single room, dinner, bed and breakfast. I'm always dubious when booking a single room as you usually end up with a box room. The room itself is bigger than I was expecting as is the bed. The 'view' was rather disappointing but no less than I was expecting. Dinner was...

There s no doubt that this hotel has seen better days, if you are fussy about modern bathrooms or fresh smelling carpets then this isn't for you BUT : 1) location is fantastic, away from noise and traffic of Brighton but really easy access 2) if you get a sea view room it is what is says on the tin,...

Stayed here for one night. Overlooking sea spectacular views. Nice hotel. Good size room. Good decent size breakfast and friendly attentive staff. Typifies Old English Inns. Good 3 star hotels always value for money.

Good check in, however when I tried to order food straight after I was told the kitchen had closed. This was 9.35 and they advertise food served until 10. I did pursue the point, and the barman kindly let me order a starter. We then sat in the bar eating said starter, and then the bar man called last orders...

Have stayed and eaten at this pub/hotel a number of times now. I have always found the staff helpful and friendly. The rooms vary, some are very nice but others could do with a refresh. The breakfast when you stay is very good with a selection of choices. I have eaten in the restaurant in the evening a few times...

Stayed here one night and one night too many! Beds comfortable but noisy room as very busy road outside and room near kitchen so when opened windows all got was smell of breakfast cooking. Room itself quite shabby. Bathroom felt like it needed a revamp with mildew and poor Lino. Not what we hoped for. Evening meal was very poor...

Spent 3 nights for business at this hotel, staff very friendly and helpful, very comfortable and great location for Brighton, without the Brighton prices. Fabulous dinner in restaurant, great food and service.

We stayed overnight on 4th March with family and friends, 4 rooms in total. On arrival the check in was easy and the lady very polite, ask our rooms were clean and spacious, beds comfortable. Staff in both hotel and bar very accommodating and friendly, including house keeping. Great location for exploring Brighton, bus stop right outside, and Rottingdean is...
