We had booked the Spa day over the internet which included lunch and two treatments each. On arrival we we greeted in the spa and given a menu to chose our lunch, which we did and then went to the Restaurant. We ordered a starters and a Chicken and a Fish dish, the Fish was fine however the Chicken and... More

Parts of this hotel go back to 12th century! It is full of character and has lots of very old features. If you bear this in mind you will enjoy your stay even more. We were there on a deal and had to cancel twice but the staff couldn't have been more accommodating. We arrived on a horrendous night and... More

Booked a spa break deal. Stayed overnight, bed was lovely and comfortable, as was the room, no faults to find. Made full use of spa facilities over both days, pool, jacuzzi, sauna, steam room and gym. Had a lovely collagen facial and head massage, heaven. Evening meal was lovely, breakfast was excellent with an abundance of choice on the continental... More

We visited on a deal, the reception was a bit strange, being a table in the entrance hall, it seemed to take a long time to get checked in. The room was across the courtyard and upstairs, the room was comfortable, not particularly large and the bathroom was functional. We are at a local pub and had drinks in one... More

Lovely historic building. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Our room was a standard room, it was comfortable though not luxurious and had some chipped paintwork and the plug in the bathroom sick was held on with a paperclip! The restaurant served good food for dinner and breakfast. Would definitely stay again.

We have just returned from a two night stay in this lovely oldy worldy hotel with probably the most cheerful and friendly staff of any hotel we have ever visited. We will most certainly recommend the hotel to all our friends as a great place to stay.

Stayed here on a large family occasion in October and right from the initial enquiry through to checkout, the service and welcome were superb. The building is creaky as you would expect from a former hunting lodge of Henry VIII but it's steeped in history and the rooms (we booked 7 in total) were all well designed. Restaurant and food...
