Great burger and pie, shame about the service! We waited 25 mins to be given a menu, gave up waiting to order drinks so ordered from the friendly bar man instead. Another 20 minutes passed before we could order, with waiters saying ‘I’ll get my collegue’- it seemed like only

We live locally but on such a nice day fancied lunch with a view. Wow it did not disappoint. (See photo) I had the seafood platter and my wife the steak and onion ciabatta. The food was so fresh and they were able to offer advice to my wife who had awkward dietary requirements.

I think most pubs in the Lake District allow dogs because a lot of the walkers have dogs with them - I’ve never personally had a problem with it

We only stayed as a couple so did not view a family room. The hotel is an old building although they do have an annex to the side of the hotel. Room was very clean although shower room a bit tight as we are fairly large people. The meals are very good and offer more than your bulk standard pub meals there was a good choice here. you did get value for money here.
