First time here and already planning a return. The hobbit holes are lovely and have stunning views. Can’t fault this place it’s perfectly located and has loads of amenities. Really clean site and peaceful atmosphere. The bar is worth a visit and had a lovely cosy feel about it.

We booked our stay based on a gift voucher we'd been given and as we were bringing 2 small dogs, booked over the phone. We stayed in a glamping burrow (hobbit hole) and I'm glad we decided on this. They are situated at the top of the site so we had a great view of the valley and Ullswater lake, with just a 5 minute walk down to the onsite shop and facilities. I'd recommend bringing an airbed or similar as, while the sleep ledges were very large, they are essentially thin mats on a wooden frame, so it wasn't that different than sleeping on the floor, as we didn't take anything to sleep on top of. The burrow had a thermostat so we could get the perfect temperature overnight and found them to be cosy with no need for a sleeping bag or heavy duvet (we just had a couple of blankets and were plenty warm enough.) The mini fridge had a small space for freezing the ice packs from the cooler which meant using both the fridge and cooler kept everything we needed chilled. (Drinks in the cooler, food in the fridge.) The fridges are only small though so some creative tetras skills were needed to make sure everything fit in as needed. We did most of our cooking on disposable bbqs, which we were able to put in the recycling on site. We found the burrow having a secure place to tie up the dogs very useful so we could sit outside and not have to keep hold of the leads, while giving them the freedom and safety of a long line. There was 0 litter and the site was very neat and tidy, with lots of options to recycle rubbish available. It was easy to find on the sat nav and we were within good driving distance of plenty of lake district attractions. I would 100% recommend this if you're looking for a peaceful place to relax, it's called The Quiet Site for a reason, it was very quiet and peaceful, just the birds and the crickets to listen to. We spent most mornings out in the local area and afternoons at the burrow. The site wifi signal was very good so we still felt connected, but we didn't really miss or need screens other than to check in with home.

Honestly the best campsite we’ve ever stayed at! You can stay in a tent, pod or more glamping style, we stayed in the glamping burrows which has a toilet, sink, kettle, microwave & fridge - all extremely clean and well kept, like the rest of the site. Honestly can’t fault it! The staff were all SO helpful and friendly too. Weather was amazing for us - we did get bikes delivered but JHEEZ the 500ft climb back up from the lake is not for the faint hearted! Next time we’ll just hire bikes down at the bottom lol. Excellent place - we’ll be back!

This place does what it says on the tin ! Quiet site ! Peace and tranquillity. After plenty of recommendations and finally getting availability we booked for 2 nights in a pod but ended up staying for 4 nights. This place could be what ever your break needs to be . It has all the facilities and amenities. Shop , showers, Food bar washing facilities, and a amazing bar . The site is in a peaceful location with beautiful well maintained grounds . The staff worked tirelessly hard and very friendly and helpful. Could not recommend enough, already looking to stay again hopefully in bigger accommodation if availability.

We visited the quiet site using a Red Letter Days voucher. We were in a glamping burrow for one night. The check in was smooth. The glamping burrows are heated, have all basic amenities and have an excellent view over ullswater - we spent the whole evening looking over the lake. Do follow the recommendation to bring all your camping equipment save for the tent (especially a hand towel)! There is a shop on site (bit pricey, would suggest bringing your own things), a pub (we didn’t visit) and a pizza/coffee shop. The pizza was amazing! The site is immaculately kept and the burrows were very clean. The walk we went on was very nice. Staff couldn’t be more helpful. I understand a lot of the price of the burrows is the view, but I would like to see some more creature comforts in the burrow to justify the price tag (ours was £139 per night). They are private outside but I felt at times a bit on top of others next door. All in all would recommend! Would visit again but probably with a tent instead!

Lovely site with nice chilled atmosphere and Glamping. The bar is cool with some great music on to enhance the chill on some evenings. The Quiet Bite was a bit pricey but he general upkeep is great of the site as a whole. The walks are good but the longer one to the waterfalls are good and recommend a stop at the royal on the way through.

Superb experience from start to finish. Not sure we will beat this quality in a camp site despite the weather not being kind but still was a perfect stay 🤣 This was our first ever trip out in our new campervan as complete novices and have to say I think we have been completely spoilt. The drive to the site is picturesque and stunning and just sets the standards for what to expect when you do finally arrive . Our welcome was very professional and friendly and we instantly felt comfortable / confident and welcomed. The reception/ immaculate toilets and unique pub are all together when you first arrive at the site. Our pitch was just perfect - hard standing / electric / water and grey waste as standard with beautiful views and we settled in immediately - first class. We enjoyed all the facilities on site during our short stay - the best was the stunning and welcoming pub with roaring fire even in June / excellent choice of drinks / Afabulous ambiance and could have stayed all night but being our first trip we wanted to try our cooking facilities q in our new camper van. Walked around the site as we are planning to bring our children / granddaughters and dogs next trip - lovely play area / big field for dogs to stretch their legs and everyone we spoke to was so friendly and complimentary about the site and the staff. Weather was so bad when we got back to our campervan we could not cook on our pitch / very windy and rainy but that gave us the opportunity to try the home made pizzas from the Quiet Bite - they were hand made / stone baked and totally delicious 🥰 £12 per pizza so be prepared to pay but in our situation they were worth every penny x Site on the evening was quite / very quite and just perfect if you are wanting to chill and relax. Woke up to bird song and sunshine early next morning and the views were just beautiful from our pitch / glimpse of Ullswater and the hills behind were just as picturesque. Perfect nights sleep / lovely fellow campers all happy to share stories with us being total novices and we just loved the whole experience from start to finish. Day out on Pooley Bridge which is 7 minutes away was the icing on the cake❤️ Just perfect x we will be back !!! Check in / check out totally seamless and enjoyable!! Friendliness of all staff - adorable!! Site - perfection. Would we stay again - tried to rebook the day we left🤣 Just hope we have not spoilt ourselves for our next adventure. Thank you for making our maiden voyage so memorable ❤️

Excellent accommodation in very clean Clamping Pod in a great position on the Quiet site. Very quiet even with improvement work taking place to the welfare facilities. The friendly staff member that met us at the book in was what you would expect from the Quiet site.

We stayed in June for 2 nights having booked with a Virgin experience voucher. We arrived early evening and were greeted quickly by a really friendly member of staff who came out to the car and directed us to our burrow. We were upgraded from a camping pod to a glamping burrow and had a great stay. You can park right outside the burrow which is great for unpacking. The burrow was lovely and warm with easily controlled heating. It was well equipped with a large bed, fridge, microwave, kettle, lots of plug and USB sockets, with an en-suite toilet. The site itself is lovely, very quiet and peaceful. We didn’t hear any noise after 10pm. The way the burrows are spaced out with a set of steps to each burrow gives a sense of privacy. We definitely hope to return and would recommend the site to anyone. We took our dog and there seemed to be lots of dogs on site.

A beautiful site in a quiet location but with fabulous views of Ullswater and surrounding hills. Having booked a glamping weekend with a voucher- we were given an upgrade to a glamping burrow - formerly hobbit houses. Having experienced the size and comfort of this - including own toilet, sink, microwave and fridge / we would definitely return and recommend it for families and couples. We took plenty of food - but there was a small stock of essentials on site a the shop. The pub was great- fantastic log fire kept everyone warm (despite being June it was too windy/cold to sit outside in the evening. Pizza cooked in wood fired oven was delicious- and served as our evening meal. So - bring your own packed lunches and head off to the hills during the day - we climbed the nearby fells but there’s also a lower route to Aira Force which seemed popular. No need to use your car if you stop for a couple of days as long as you go prepared. Pooled Bridge was a reasonable walk along the Ullswater Way and plenty of nice cafes and cakes available! Site showers and toilets were immaculate with plenty of hot water! Great spot and super facilities - highly recommend.
