The accommodation is basic but clean, and the kitchen is well-equipped. The owner on the other hand...We were puzzled that she just lead us to our room and disappeared right after, not saying a word and felt the need to correct our cooking skills. The next morning she asked us if we could please leave 8:30 AM the next morning;...

Thanks for taking the time to write a review. I apologise if you found me impolite; I did in fact try to engage with you on arrival but you seemed content to talk amongst yourselves. I don't remember your cooking skills but if I commented it was most likely that you were cooking with the gas turned up high which...

Stayed the night while walking the East Highland Way. Really friendly and helpful owners, a comfortable bed and a great value cooked breakfast and packed lunch which kept me going for 25 miles the next day! Can't believe the reviewer who said the bunkhouse is noisy: the only sound I heard all night was a tawny owl in a tree...

Thanks for your comments. We hope you come back to listen to the owls again on another walking trip.

Stayed for the 1 night recently and wasn't impressed. We shared a bunkroom with 2 other visitors and was kept awake most of the night by doors banging (on sprung hinges?). The drying room could also be heard which is in the main corridor. The main corridor, where the toilets are, is also very noisy when walked on (frequently during...

Agreed, the fire doors can be noisy especially if the windows are open. Having the drying room in the heart of the building is neither practical or ideal but there is little scope to move it elsewhere. It is for this reason that the corridor has thin easily replaceable carpet unlike in the rest of the building. Any hum from...

Really clean and accessible hostel (right on the railway platform, but quiet due to very few trains). In the midst of beautiful scenery and easy to get to lots of walks, such as Corrour and the Nevis Range. Friendly owners who will prepare food for a little extra money. Great prices for everything. No internet.

Another great stay with my son's. My first visit was in 1998 when my oldest son was a mere 5yrs.Now; as this was his 22nd Birthday he chose the bunkhouse to celebrate it with his 5yr old brother, who was now on his first visit of many, I am sure. The bunkhouse is always friendly, warm with great comfy beds for my...

The place is very clean, We had booked a twin bedded room but as hostel was quiet that night owner put us in a bigger room with mulit beds to give us more space- very thoughtful. Recently stayed with a friend for the night and was impressed. The hostel is clean, in good shape and cosy. It's a nice place to relax and unwind. The beds are comfy so you get a good nights sleep while your kit dries in the drying room. The couple in charge are lovely. They take their time to get to...
