Booked 2 nights B&B with one night dinner. Reception was very efficient with pleasant staff. Room (Hawthorn) was very "tired" and need of refurbishment with ensuite rather dated - however in saying that it was warm and comfortable enough for the two nights although we had to pile up the heavy curtains to stem the draft from the windows. The hotel...

For a hotel that claims to be "dog friendly" and be a bit huntin', shootin' fishin', the policy regarding dogs is a little unusual and disappointing. I booked only a week prior to staying, through one of the well known sites and was told the next day that I couldn't have a dog in the room that I had booked....

We booked this hotel a few months ago. Sadly, we weren't able to take up the booking, so cancelled, with a month's notice. Told it was fine and money would be refunded. A week later, no refund. Called and were told that the person who needed to sign off on the refund was on annual leave for two weeks. Fine....

Enjoyed a two night break here in November . Very comfortable beds. Nice food in restaurant. Rooms are a bit jaded but clean and comfortable. Certainly not luxurious but good value for money. Best rooms for a view are at front of hotel overlooking the river.

We were on a long weekend break with our two dogs. We stayed in the Hawthorn room on the first floor with views overlooking the beautiful front lawn and river. The hotel was built around 1400 and is charming and interesting with lots of quirky architectural features and a roaring fire in the lounge. Upon arrival the maid followed us...
