This was a lovely B&B in a beautiful area. Our room was good though we could have done with another chair. The room was not en suite, which we would have preferred but the bathroom was excellent. The hosts were friendly, obliging and helpful. We visited this area as it was of family history interest to anyone of the name Mc...

They are a wonderful couple and couldn't do enough to help us enjoy our stay. Swallow cottage is fitted out to the highest quality and Steve and Sarah...

We stayed for a long weekend but wished it could have been much longer. The location was so peaceful and beautiful it was breathtaking. Our room was excellent and we had use of a delightful sitting room too. Breakfasts were great and plentiful, freshly prepared and unhurried. We visited to attend a family wedding nearby but had no trouble filling...

Have just had another lovely weekend at McMurdoston House. This time we rented Swift Cottage, which had any amenity you could ever wish for! The beds were extremely comfortable and warm. We had McMurdoston's youngest visitor with us at 3 weeks old and both Sarah and Steve were extremely attentive to make our stay as comfortable as possible. We enjoyed...

Beautiful house, beautiful scenery, walking and birdwatching particularly popular, but more importantly the welcome and attention to detail is great. Sarah and Steve are passionate about the place and it shows. Don't miss it!

We rented one of the self catering cottages (Swallow). The owners had converted an outbuilding into two cottages very recently. The standard of design, workmanship and fittings was to an extremely high standard with even a pasta maker (not used). A very quiet spot well off the main road. Plenty of walks and a very challenging hill climb within cycling...

Spent a week in the self catering. Cottage was well equipped, Loved the area, its very isolated down a single track road shared by some farms and cottages. Very peaceful. Able to see lots of wildlife and enjoy walks down to the woods. Further afield Threave, Kirkcudbright and WWT Caerlaverock are all well worth a visit.
