Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Nice setting and easy to get to Staff really helpful and friendly and I enjoyed the food and dinner Plenty of parking and dog friendly Only problem being that being an older building it’s a bit noisy and if you have room at rear the extractor fan for the kitchen is a bit noisy though this goes off at about 21.30 Nice restaurant and bar area

We were on the way back from doing the NC500 and decided to stop in for something to eat on the way to our next stop over. We had a wonderful welcome from the staff who couldn't do enough to help us. We both ordered cullen skink for starters and it was the best either of us have had, I could have eaten a gallon of it. I then had the slow cooked beef cheek which was melt in the mouth, I think its one of the best meals I've had in a long time. The quality of the food and friendlyness of the staff means its on my list of places to visit again when we are next in the highlands. I'd give it 6 stars if I could!

Very high standard, great staff, super restaurant & great beer - a really most enjoyable stay. Only quibble is that they still have not responded to my lost property query and I’m not happy - they even seemed reluctant to help!

We stayed here on night 4 of walking the west highland way. I stayed in one of the rooms outside the main hotel and it was a fabulous little room. Bottled water was waiting for me along with crisps and biscuits alongside the standard tea and coffee facilities. The bed was large and comfy and just what I needed! The bathroom had a great shower and had white company toiletries. The room had sliding doors onto a decked area which slightly overlooked the car park but that didn’t distract from the view. We had food in the restaurant which was great and breakfast in the morning was also good. Great stop on the West Highland Way!

We had a room in the newer annex at the back of the older hotel. Like a motel, each room has an individual entry door at the front and a small deck accessed by a sliding door at the other side of the room. The room was "IKEA modern" with light colours on the walls and floor boards as well as the wicker desk and chairs. The bathroom was equally small but functional. Food is served in a large dining room in the older part of the hotel. Unfortunately the real chef must have been away the day we were there: our dinner consisted of tomato soup that would have been more appropriate as spaghetti sauce; a rice dish which was claimed to be risotto; overly huge chunks of ready-mix chocolate cake with a couple of popcorn on top parading as dollops of cream (weird, I know). You have to question why the hotel - or our tour company, Nordic Visitor - would give such bare minimum value to its guests. It left a bad taste in our tour group's mouth. All in all an "ok place" to rest the weary head of travelers - but I would avoid eating there if you can avoid it.

Dear canontnia, we appreciate you taking your time to write about your stay with us. I am quite surprised to hear that our food menu did not meet your expectations, as we offer a good range of classic pub food as well as a little more elevated dining experience. Was this brought to attention to someone from our staff team? We know the remote location we are situated in, so we always try our best to serve all our guests and tailor something together. However, I am glad that you enjoyed your room in our annex building. We hope we can welcome you back some day to show off the standards we cater up to. Kind regards,

The staff at the Bridge of Orchy Hotel are exceptional. I have visited many hotels around the World and have never experienced anything quite like it. We didn't want to leave as it felt like we had made 10 new friends. We used the hotel as a base and a pivot point to visit various locations around the West Highlands and it proved to be perfect. Our room was immaculately clean and looked brand new. The views from our bedroom to the bridge and the river were lovely as was the view from the hotel balcony. The hotel is located at a crossing point on the West Highland Highway so is used by walkers as a resting point for food and drinks so it was very busy which made our visit more interesting with walkers of many nationalities dropping by. I feel like I should keep this hotel a secret as it was so special as the Management and Staff made our stay such a lovely experience but this is now my gift to whom ever reads this review.

We stopped here for lunch and we’re very impressed by the food. I had celeriac and apple soup which was delicious. The service was swift and the waiters friendly. Highly recommended whether you are walking the West Highland Way, or just passing.

Brilliant location for the West Highland Way with a lovely cafe/bar for lunch with delicious food. Dinner was equally good and the rooms are comfortable and clean. Third year in a row and the staff are always helpful and cheery. Expensive but worth it.
