Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.

Detailed Reviews
I spent three nights in the hotel in early October. As an escape from the tedium of home working it couldn't have been better. The modern rooms are extremely comfortable and have all you need as well as great privacy and lovely views. There are two restaurants, one beside the bar and the other , slightly more refined in character. Both serve the same excellent food. This is a hotel that really cares about it's food , right down to the quality of the breakast toast. But above all it's the staff who run the hotel that make this such a special place. They are superb , highly professional but not stiff or formal in any way. They exude friendliness and charm whether to a guest staying for a week or a passing trekker on the West Highland Way ,in for a plate of soup and a beer. If you are a keen walker , you need never get in your car as the variety of walks and climbs on your doorstop is immense. The landscapes are breathtaking whatever the weather. I will be back as soon as I can. Note however that the hotel generally closes for December and January . I should add that the hotel is great value for money

First things first this is a wonderful location albeit slap bang on the A82. There is the idyllic river flowing behind the hotel and beautiful walks with the stunning mountains all around.
The hotel is smart, comfortable and all the rooms seem to have breathtaking views. The meals served in the bar area in the evening were reasonably priced and of good standard . Breakfast was good too.
My negative points on the hotel would be the price we paid for the one night stay. Compared to the week around The Highlands we had already had the rate was well overpriced. I know the hotel is out on a limb in what would seem a middle of nowhere ( it actually isn’t that far from Tyndrum ! ) but I don’t think it was worth £162 a night ! Also, I have to note all but one of the bar/restaurant staff wore masks below their noses. I am definitely not a Covid obsessive and I’m certainly fed up like everyone else with the restrictions but however, I stick to the rules and wear my mask when I’m told to. But watching the staff go about their business with their masks below their noses ( and I guess they’ve been doing that all along ) was slightly annoying !
That said, on a final note - a beautiful setting, smart clean hotel, I’d recommend but might find an alternative on any potential trip up this way again.

We stopped by the Bridge of Orchy to have a break, get a coffee and have a snack. The staff were most welcoming. The waiter was properly attired, polite, helpful & even put out a small jar of honey for me to go with my tea. Facilities were immaculate. At the rear of the hotel look to be very classy composition units facing a dabbling brook. Would recommend any walkers on the West Highland Way to consider stopping by here as it’s literally on the track.

Stayed for 2 nights, lovely location. Room was fine but a little pricey. Nice breakfast, never had other meals as there had been an issue with coronavirus so were only doing soup and sandwiches, which looked pretty tasty. My husband has knee issues at the moment and bar staff very kindly gave him bags of ice on both nights to take to room to ice his knee. We also had an issue with midges, which was totally our own fault and we were moved to a new room . Would definitely stay here again if in the area.

This hotel is worth the money you pay down to the last detail.
We stayed in the Anex room which is dog and WHW Walker friendly... so you would assume it wouldn’t be squeaky clean. WRONG.
The room was immaculate, not a single spot of mud or dog hair in sight.
The rooms are toasty too which is lovely after a day of walking in the cold.
Good selection of tea, coffee and biscuits in room.
Toiletries are white company too! Little extravagant touch... I like.
As for the restaurant food and staff... again incredible. The food is delish (a little pricey though) and the staff couldn’t be more accommodating and friendly. They even bring water and food for the dogs!
Stayed twice and would go back again in a heartbeat.
Thank you so much guys!

We booked this hotel for an overnight stop en-route to the Western Isles from the midlands on 20th July (post lockdown). We chose it because it is dog friendly. the hotel is modern and comfortable with great views over the Caledonian Way. The service was very professional and Covid compliant but not intrusive. The room we stayed in was in the modern annexed rooms adjacent to the old building. Excellent set up if you've got a dog as the patio doors from the rooms lead onto wide open spaces down to the stone Bridge of Orchy giving you all the independence you need. The bar area was busy and the food in the restaurant was excellent. I would recommend this hotel for facilities and location.

Stopped in here for lunch post Munro on Sunday. Staff were all very friendly and efficient as we were a bigger group split over two tables due to new guidelines. I had the venison burger which was okay but it was overdone and couldn’t tell it was venison and it came with a tiny wee bowl of chips. Others looked nicer including the fish and chips.

Dear 275maddyw, Thank You for taking the time to leave review. I am pleased to hear that the staff were following the guidelines but delivering a friendly service at the same time. I am sorry to hear that your venison was overdone and that you found the portion the chips too small. We do review our quantity and quality of our dishes quite often. They are carefully portioned so people would be able to enjoy a three course meal without feeling overwhelmed. I am quite surprised as the venison burger is one of our hearty dish to keep the walkers in mind. Regardless I will look into the issue and we will carefully take your opinion on board. I am glad to hear that the rest of the dishes in your party were happy. Kind regards,

I have just had an overnight stay at the Bridge of Orchy hotel. From the moment I checked, in the service and standard of the hotel has been first class. When I checked in, someone helped with my bags to the room. The room was beautiful and one of the comfiest beds I have slept in. Lovely toiletries in the bathroom from The White Company. Dinner was exceptional and reasonably priced using local produce. Social distancing and hygiene taken very seriously with directional arrows and well spaced tables in the bar and restaurant. I felt very safe. The service provided by the staff in this hotel was probably the best I have had. I will definitely be back.

We booked Bridge of Orchy to break up a journey from Isle of Skye to Yorkshire and so glad we did. Lovely hotel, nice rooms and a great setting. We went for a nice walk when we got there before having drinks in the bar. (Highly recommend the scones.) We had our dogs with us and it’s set up brilliantly for dogs, and has a good boot rack in the entrance to the room so that you don’t walk muddy boots in. We also had a three course meal that was delicious. The staff were friendly and the whole stay was great.

We stayed one night as part of a large group booking made many months in advance. We agreed with everything the hotel requested of us including paying higher room rates in the annex and pre-ordering from the dinner menu. We therefore spent a considerable amount during our stay. It could have been good but:
The hotel claims to be dog friendly. It isn't. Dogs are allowed only in the bar area so residents wishing to enjoy the lounge / assigned to the restaurant for food must leave dogs alone in their room.
Annex residents are made to leave the hotel at 11pm. You are quite literally consigned to your room after this. We ordered last drinks at 10.45pm and were told a number of times thereafter we had to leave at 11pm. We therefore left a round of drinks untouched because we felt so unwelcome. We wouldn't have actually stayed much longer, having further travels the next day, but to finish our drinks in comfort would have been nice. Perhaps don't accept drinks orders so close to closing time and don't accept large group bookings if you don't genuinely wish to accommodate them.
On searching in the morning for a lost earring, I uncovered a large brown stain on my mattress in room number 44 (see photo) beneath the sheets and protector. Unfortunately, I felt there was no point raising it with management, given their response the previous evening.
I could say more about our gripes but know there's little point. Unfortunately, this seems to be the way of Scottish hospitality these days in a number of hotels vest avoided.
We walk as a large group of family/friends every year, often returning to the same hotel. We won't be returning here.
