A beautiful B&B in a stunning spot by the river, located in a great place for exploring the area. Rooms were clean, spacious and comfortable, service was warm and friendly, and the breakfast was fresh, hearty, and varied. We couldn’t walk Cader due the weather but when we return we’ll definitely look to stay here again.

Just stayed for one night whilst visiting the area for mountain walking. Very comfortable accommodation, homely and a welcome change from soulless corporate business hotels which I stay in for work. Excellent breakfast, with lots of choice.

Ambience much to be desired. Had to ask for toilet paper. Don't go expecting evening meal, only gave us main meal on first night package deal, had to pay for starter and dessert. wouldn't cook for the next two nights. Criteria for evening meals depended on how many people staying, not worth opening the kitchen we were told. Breakfast over cooked then warmed up. Perhaps we were unlucky this time.

3 nights B&B(the hotel only does B&B accommodation at the moment & occasional camping, but check with the hotel before travelling). Rooms well appointed, warm, comfortable bed and bedding. Bathroom small but good. Large TV & free view. WiFi worked well. Breakfast, basically excellent(tiny moans - we ideally needed more toast & tea(or coffee) than we were given). Just off A470 but no disturbance from traffic. A river(white water while we were there) at the end of garden. Fishing rights for hotel guests apparently. Ample car parking. Pleasant gardens&ground. Lovely location. Definitely suitable for hikers.

Second stay this winter;this visit excelled the last one, everything was better! The owner remembered we stayed in a particular room so she booked us in the same one which was a lovely thoughtful surprise! freshly cooked breakfast with homemade yoghurt. Improvements you can see on regards to the building the area is beautiful the gardens also lovely. It's such a tranquil setting. Staff member is always very polite and courteous, a great weekend. We will be returning in the summer!

Such a stunning location, right next to the river, nestled in the valley. Very clean room with lots of tea making facilities and excellent WiFi access. Great value for a short break. Sue is a great chef and hostess and we really enjoyed the peace and quiet.

We booked in to stay at the Dolbrodmaeth using Groupon. The reviews and website were all very honest saying that the B&B was being updated and was only half finished with windows and bedrooms needing finishing. We arrived at a beautiful location next to the river, checked in easily and was shown around and to our room. The B&B is lovely, the rooms were a little dated but we knew this before booking and were spotlessly clean, comfortable and cosy. The breakfast each morning was delicious and we had the Sunday roast in the evening and the portion was huge and it was delicious. Little touches made the Dolbrodmaeth stand out, not only the view and location but also that they offer wild camping in the summer, the binoculars at the breakfast table so you can look out over the river and hills. The cosy log fire in the lounge which we enjoyed a drink in the evening next to. We found everyone at the Dolbrodmaeth so friendly and actually everyone in the whole area was so helpful and friendly. It’s a great base camp for exploring and yes we did climb Snowdon on a very cold and rainy November morning. A very difficult challenge and due to the weather not much in way of reward in views but we will no doubt be back in the summer to try again. All in all a great B&B and a lovely week away.

We bought a Groupon deal for a two nights stay with an evening meal on the first night. The location is beautiful with stunning views. The b&b is lovely. The decor is chabby chic which may not be to everyones taste but the place is well presented and clean. The room we had was very spacious and clean with beautiful views of the mountains and the river at the bottom of the garden. On arrival we were shown all around the breakfast area, restaurant and bedroom. The owner what showed us around was lovely and welcoming as all the staff were. The full welsh breakfast we had was lovely and tasty. I must say the idea of having a bin on the breakfast table to put your rubbish In is one Ive never come across before and a little strange. As we were on a Groupon deal the evening meal menu was limited in choice and is only for a main meal. If you want a starter or a dessert you will have to pay for them. The evening meal itself was nice although my chips were slightly undercooked. The only disappointment came was when we checked out. We checked out but after a short drive we had to return as I forgot some keys in our room. On my return I was told by a member of staff that said sorry I'm going to charge you £10 for damage to some towels. I was shown the so called damage to the towel and to my amazement the damage was make up,thats all. Apparently the offending towel had to be sent to be dry cleaned thus charging me the £10 as the towels are normally cleaned in-house. With disappointment at this I reluctantly handed over the charge for the so called damage towel. Nevertheless we had a fantastic time in a beautiful location and stunning views.

Response from Susan H, Owner at Dolbrodmaeth Riverside B&B
Responded 21 Nov 2018
Hi there Gary, Just a quick responce to your review on your stay with us at Dolbrodmaeth Riverside. Thank you for your kind words. With regards to the groupon, it does state on the groupon website and on the fine print of your voucher that the deal includes a 1 course meal. We do make this quite clear on there so we dont have any confusion when guests arrive. We do have a policy against any breakages and damages on the premises, which is cleary stated in the information books in the rooms. The manager has to address these polices, as she did when you returned to the hotel after discovering the damages. This item was in fact burnt, it was not makeup, because we have not managed to remove this "makeup" from the towel.I also showed it to another member of staff who also confirmed that the towel was scorched not makeup as a woman who uses makeup myself I know what makeup is we are sorry that this incident happened and glad you enjoyed your stay with us. One last note the bins on the tables are so the guest can have a table clear of rubbish butter wrappers etc & are used widely on the continent which is where we picked up the idea. We hope other than that, you had a wonderful stay and we hope to see you again soon. Kind Regards, Dolbrodmaeth Riverside

Returned today from a three night stay at this delightful and quirky B&B. Lovely staff who were very helpful. Full Welsh Breakfast was superb and could be adjusted to suit one's tate on request. Beds were very comfortable and rooms were warm. Hot water was instant. The only down side is that rooms are not serviced on a daily basis and we had to ask at reception for extra toilet rool and tea/sugar etc. No towels in the room when we arrived but were brought to our room when we enquired. Also, there is no double glazing and, as such, window was covered in condensation in the mornings. We really enjoyed our stay and have already booked to go there again.

Hello, thank you for staying with us we are so glad you enjoyed it. We are upgrading the b&b the windows and some of the doors including the patio doors are being changed in January. W e are aware of the condensation on the windows. the rooms should have been serviced every day an oversight by the cleaner as was the towels which should have been in the room also before you arrived am very sorry about that.We look forward to meeting you again on your return with no condensation on our triple glazed Everest windows so will be all cosy & warm. Kind Regards Sue/ owner.
