Rossett Hall Hotel is frequently commended by guests for its comfortable beds and spacious rooms, which come with a range of appreciated amenities and are generally celebrated for their cleanliness. While the service at the hotel receives high marks for its friendliness and professionalism, especially during special events, opinions on value are divided; some guests feel the offerings don't justify the price, whereas others are pleased with the deals provided.
The atmosphere presents a charming yet occasionally inconsistent experience, with a few noting noise issues.

We recently had our wedding at Rossett Hall Hotel. From the initial booking 2 years ago all the way up until the day itself, the helpfulness from all members of staff we met with were fantastic. The reception staff were brilliant with taking all of our bookings for guests and sorting out accessible rooms where required.
During the wedding itself, staff that we interacted with were brilliant. Leanne our events coordinator was extremely supportive beforehand and throughout in making sure everything was ready, alongside general manager Shaun who began very early on in the morning setting up the room exactly how we wanted it. He also was very attentive as I went through certain little decorations that we wanted putting out and everything was in perfect place during the wedding reception.
The food was fantastic (as it was in our previous tasting session) and all of our guests commented on the large portion sizes which they couldn’t believe and were very impressed by. Also the kitchen were perfect at getting our preorder exactly right and accommodating really well to our 3 young sons dietary likes and dislikes to ensure there was something for them all to eat.
In the evening, Adam and Steph worked tirelessly on the bar (which never went quiet) and our guests commented on their friendliness with everybody all the way until myself and my husband were the last ones up at 2am chatting away to Steph. Nothing was too much for them with everybody’s requests even simple things like finding us some milk to fill our son’s bottles with.
The rooms are fantastic, we popped into a few of the rooms to see our guests and each room was clean, tidy and comfortable. Our Westminster Suite was amazing and so was the Trevalyn Suite that I stayed in the night before (the shower in there is exceptional!)
Next morning, the young girl who was running the breakfast shift was amazing at keeping up with the busyness of the restaurant which was full of our guests and some of the next day’s wedding guests. Food again was excellent throughout.
A massive thank you to everyone at Rossett Hall Hotel for providing an excellent level of service for our wedding day. The attention to detail is amazing and what is included for the price is extraordinary. We feel incredibly lucky that we chose to have our wedding here and would recommend it to anybody that we meet.
Thank you Rossett Hall for a fantastic day!
Holly & Josh

We booked for the hotel’s three day Christmas package, upgrading to a junior suite (room 52). From the moment we arrived until we checked out, we were very impressed by the hotel and its staff. They were catering for large parties of non residents, plus a good few residents but even by the end of Boxing Day, staff were smiling and friendly. The standard and portion size of the meals was amazing. Starting with a huge afternoon tea and ending with breakfast, no meal suffered from the mass catering issues of cold food or unappetising presentation. Our room was large, with a comfortable bed and a huge bathroom offering a claw foot bath and a shower big enough for a small family!! Due to the high winds over the days of Christmas the TV reception was very poor, which was annoying but not too bad. We had books, iPads and a wireless Bose speaker for some music. Our room was serviced every day which we’d not had at other hotels over the festive breaks. Complimentary bottled water each day plus a little gift from the management was appreciated. We met some lovely people, and enjoyed the quiz evening (in which we scored abysmally. Blame too much food and drink! All in all, a great stay and when thinking of future trips to the area, Rossett Hall will be top of our list. Thank you to all the staff.

Our room was nice and fresh but heated towel bar in bath made room very warm. It also started banging early in the morning and woke us up. Fortunately there was a table fan in closet that we put on desk to make sleeping more comfortable. Service was very slow both for evening drinks with light bites and tasteless breakfast in tastelessly decorated dining room. Waitresses were clueless on how to service guests. It appears that hosting business meetings and weddings/special event may be significant business for this venue. A loud group of about 30 or so business people filled the bar/dining area so it was impossible for us to carry on a conversation.

Definitely not a 4* hotel. We booked an enchanted escapes trip to here for my birthday. The restaurant staff were just lovely however upon checking in we quickly realised there was nothing enchanting about this hotel at all. We walked in to our room to the curtains hanging off the window with an enchanting view of a yellow skip! I then went flying in the bathroom due to the floor being completely soaked !! No phone to ring anyone so my cousin went to the unhelpful reception only to be brushed off saying they’ll fix the curtain when we leave !!! Great so anyone walking past can see into our GROUND floor room !! Probably the worst customer service I’ve had in a hotel and we go on several trips a year.

Bought an ‘Enchanted Retreat ‘ voucher for my cousins birthday and on seeing the images of the ‘Hall’ I was excited for the stay. We did book Sunday lunch in Oscars at the hotel which was lovely and the staff there were great young ladies and attentive. But on checking into our room we realised that the rooms were not at all in keeping with the’ Hall’ they sell you. The rooms are very ‘Premier Inn’ in style with no features and very basic. The room and breakfast (as we then reviewed online) booking would have been £80 for that evening but the voucher was over £100. I went to reception to say that I didn’t think the room was worth it, and was told that the voucher will always have a 30% add on from the voucher retailer. Besides this, the curtains were hanging off the window and were very creased. They said they would move us to another room but it would be the same style. Although they do have rooms in keeping with the Hall they weren’t prepared to move us to one (although it was a quiet Sunday evening ) we go on lots of Manor House stay overs per year, and safe to say this has been the worst.

This rating does not reflect the staff, who were lovely. This was a nightmare of a trip for me. I booked a 'King Suite with a Country View' at great expense, which was seemingly downgraded to a 'Junior Suite' without any prior notice. Also, as soon as I got to the hotel, I was informed by the receptionist that I was situated above a wedding reception which would be loud until 2AM. I was travelling for work so this was far from ideal. If only the same urgency for letting me know had been carried forward a day or two, where it would've been the dealbreaker for my entire reservation.
Also, please see attached photo of my 'country view' which looks astonishingly like a car park. Woeful value for money. Seems extremely unfair to charge someone on several different added price points you weren't able to fulfil, and then decide to situate me directly above a wedding reception?

We got married here in April This year. I cannot recommend the staff highly enough. From our first interaction with the events team I knew this was the place for us. We didn’t even look elsewhere. They really listened to what we wanted and made everything so easy and made us feel at ease. I’m so grateful for everything. We booked a room for the night before for me and my bridesmaids and mum and there was an issue with room so they upgraded us to the bridal suite. As there was 4 of us they even opened up connecting room with no extra charge and this was really appreciated. Emily and Rebecca thank you so much for everything. It’s a day neither of us will ever forget

Sadly not a 4* hotel - very overpriced for the quality and standard.
Having booked a 2 x night junior suite (more like the attic room with a big bathroom) the overall standard was very poor- heating had been left on so impossible to get the room cool with tiny windows/ shower flooded the whole bathroom and no maintenance available so it was unuseable/stained carpet/mattress in need of replacing. No alternative rooms as a wedding on so we left after 1 night.
Looking at other reviews these issues have appeared for some time so come on Rossett Hall sort it out or reduce your prices.
When a function is on there is no access from the older rooms to the main hotel without walking in the rain!
Restaurant modern, and food was good, and staff very efficient. Needed the air-con on for breakfast as the room was very busy.
Thank you Denise on reception for your help - she was very apologetic and did at least care, but unfortunately no one else has followed up on the complaint we made, hence this review.

My husband and I have just spent two nights here . The Hotel itself is very nice, and we were impressed with our room and bathroom which were clean and both a good size. Excellent shower with bags of hot water. There was ample storage space, with a decent hairdryer and ironing facilities, tea , coffee, biscuits and bottled water. Big bed which was so comfortable, and quiet at night.
On the down side, upon check in we found the receptionist rather unwelcoming and dour, which was off-putting, and we were also asked to pay in full upon arrival, which we have never come across before in a Hotel, but maybe this was because we had booked one of their 'special deals'? One of the other receptionists, a blonde lady, was however very pleasant and helpful.
The real problems began when we had our first evening meal in Oscar's Brasserie, which were included in the special offer deal we had chosen. Whilst the staff were pleasant, it became apparent that, in our opinion, there appeared to be a lack of training and virtually no attention to detail. We had an issue with being served a cold starter, the plates and bowls were cold. We were charged for wine that was already included in the special offer, which was rectified but shouldn't have happened if staff were better trained to familiarise themselves with which room numbers were on a 'special offer' basis.
The evening menu is very limited and we did struggle finding options that we liked. On the plus side, the fish and chips are wonderful.
The buffet breakfast was dreadful. Everything was luke warm or cold. Beans with skin on them, hash browns like bullets, soggy mushrooms and the bacon and sausages had barely been cooked. The fried eggs were well cooked, but had gone cold as well. On the second morning I found out purely by accident from another guest that freshly cooked scrambled or poached eggs were available. We had not been informed of this by the restaurant staff! I ordered scrambled eggs which were OK.
I would say that there are pro's and con's with this Hotel, and our average rating is based on room/bathroom being acceptable, but our dining experiences being well below average. We may return, but go elsewhere for evening meals, and order freshly cooked eggs every morning!!
It is such a shame because the Brasserie is very well decorated and comfortable, but upon speaking to some other guests, they also said they felt very disappointed with their experiences in one way or another.

Stayed for one night in a superior garden view room as wanted a nice relaxing night away. This was not as relaxing as we had hoped as there was a wedding on and while this was not a problem as we understand weddings can be a bit rowdy, once the party finished some of the guests took it outside and continued to be very rowdy until at least 3.30 am. Unless the wedding has sole use of the hotel the management need a cut off point so that other paying guests are not disturbed, this is not a cheap hotel. Other points to make ..... there were some small maintenance issues, loose window handle, some paintwork needs refreshing and bathroom light switch wrong way round. We didn't eat in Oscar's in the evening and breakfast was average. Unfortunately I wouldn't class this as a 4* hotel.
