We stayed for one night while visiting Gower.
We passed the hotel on our way to Rhossili thinking how lovely it looked, and realised we would be staying there later!
Check-in was quick and easy. We were in room 8 in the annexe which was large, modern and very clean, with a Juliet balcony overlooking the beautifully maintained gardens and fields beyond.
A large shower room with walk-in shower and double hand basins, all tastefully tiled.
The bed was very comfortable with crisp white linen.
We ate in the restaurant and we both ordered vegetarian meals from the 'specials'. The food was excellent - very tasty (perhaps a little expensive, but worth it to have a good meal).
Restaurant staff were friendly and polite.
The grounds are beautiful and well looked after with beautiful shrubs and flowers. As a wedding venue it would be perfect.
Breakfast was fine, cereal, fruit, yogurt and choice of cooked breakfast.
We hope to return for a longer stay as it was so peaceful and quiet.
Also they have just installed an EV charge point which for us is a bonus!

Booked a last minute room here and I was not disappointed (and I’m pretty fussy about where I stay). We arrived quite late in the evening and went straight to the bar for a bite to eat before the end of service. Food was lovely and obviously home made. The log fire was burning and it was so easy to relax. Bedroom was spotlessly clean (room 9), large and had everything needed for a night away. Most importantly it had a plug socket near a mirror for a hairdryer (so many hotel rooms don’t). Breakfast was superb (I had fresh fruit salad, toast with marmalade and a full Welsh) and the lady serving couldn’t have been more friendly and helpful. If you’re looking for a relaxing stay in a quiet location I’d definitely recommend it. I will certainly be visiting here again, hopefully for a much longer stay.

We visit the Gower several times a year and usually camp but decided to book for a February night get-away.
We chose a king room in the annexe and were able to take advantage of a Feb deal with £30 off and a bottle of fizz which was amazing value for money.
We were advised before booking that there was a ticketed event in their function room. They are very upfront about events and weddings which is good as not all venues are. We were in room 18 on the first floor in the annexe which is a short walk from reception in a separate building. It's at the far side so furthest away from the function room. and we couldn't hear a thing. The room was very spacious with traditional furnishings, a really lovely Juliette balcony, overlooking part of the the garden, fields and Gower valley views beyond. The bed was spacious and really comfy. Very nice modern bathroom with quality products and a double rain shower over the bath. Our friends who booked last minute could only get a small double above the pub. These rooms are cheaper but small with no views. For an extra £30 you get a lot more for your money in the annexe rooms.
The only thing I would add to the room is a full length mirror.
Breakfast was very nice with a cooked option and plenty of choice.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely return, perhaps book one of the cottages which look lovely.

This was our first trip to the Gower and we chose the King Arthur Hotel based on reviews and price. We have to say it was excellent all round and with the weather being sunny and warm I think we saw the place at its best! The garden was packed every day with people stopping buy for a meal, but the staff seemed to cope admirably, and for the staying guests they seemed to go out of the way to accommodate us. We loved the room in the annexe, with cool decor, a view over the fields, a comfortable bed (I asked for a softer pillow which came with no trouble) and a large bath with great products. After we had left, the receptionist kindly phoned to say my wife had left a jacket in the wardrobe! The limited choice breakfast was excellent quality (the Welsh bacon was the best!) and the meal in the restaurant was delicious (I had seared tuna with puttenesca sauce and my wife had monkfish with black bean stew). It was such a nice change to see different things on the menu (you could have the standard fish and chips and burgers as well!) and the local strawberries for dessert were the best! Congratulations to all at King Arthur!

The King Arthur hosted our wedding on 22/07/24
From the moment we booked I raved to all the people we invited to the wedding about the food (after eating here several times ourselves)
We had a meal the night before the wedding and the food did not disappoint. Everyone stated how excited for the wedding breakfast they were after having a taste of the pub menu. So many people came over to us and commented on the wedding breakfast and how the quality of the food was better than some of the higher end venues they had been to.
The head chef came out and spoke to us and he was lovely!
All the wedding staff have been so friendly and attentive with our big day, but a special thanks goes to Annalise, she has been there since we first got shown the venue, had our meetings with her and she was our coordinator on the day.
The day before she got stuck in and helped my vision come to life! She made sure we were looked after and our families.
On the day she reassured us that we don’t go by anyone else’s timings and it was all on our time and our say.
She assisted on keeping food warm when my brother had to pop out to put his daughter for a nap. She made sure the day went perfectly. Nothing was too much of an ask.

We didn’t hire a band. We opted for the resident DJ, Justin.
We spoke on the phone, communicated what we wanted for the night, asked him to mix three things when it came to our first dance and it was done impeccably!
I later found out that there were circumstances where Justin could have sent someone else to DJ for us but he ‘wasn’t letting us down on our wedding day’ putting us before his needs. He read the room, I originally asked for ‘Emo Hour’ and gave a list of preferred songs/artists.
It turned into Emo all night and the only time the dance floor had minimal people on was when the buffet was open. We couldn’t even get people into the Photo Booth due to the bangers that kept coming from Justin.
Our friends and family are still talking about our wedding. The biggest compliment is
‘You can tell we are at Stacey and Matthew’s Wedding’
All this is down to the KA allowing us to put our mark on the wedding. Allowing us to be free with our vision and even allowing us to play the music that is relevant to us.
We literally had the most perfect day. I want to do it all over again and I wouldn’t change a thing.

After seeing friends today, they all stated that they had never known it was there but they will definitely be making efforts to head there for food or even an overnight stay just cause the food and hospitality was second to none.
Thank you to EVERYONE at the King Arthur.
Whether you were at the bar, serving us food, helping set up, or tiding our accommodation. You all helped our day be the most perfect day!

The King Arthur holds a special place in my heart, I fell in love with the venue after seeing it on Bride Book and later found out it’s where my mum and dad got engaged back in the 80s - this made me love the venue even more. It’s safe to say - The KA already is and is going to be an important place for us and our future family.

Mr and Mrs Curtis.

It was our first time staying at King Authur Hotel. Having drove past a few times and finding the location with it's scenic appeal enticing to unwind from work stressers, we decided to book a stay.
The room was clean, the grounds were beautifully kept giving the romantic feel to enjoy a warm summer evening in. Staff were very friendly and the locals were welcoming.
The highlight of our stay has to be the view from our room (17) with rolling hills and greenery as far as the eye can see.
There was a variety of pub grub available in the restaurant with a specials menu to chose from also. We ordered the lasagne and swordfish. We aren't big foodies people and although the meals were tasty it's unlikely we would order those again.
Plenty of parking available at the rear of the property. Can be busy with locals.
As a newly engaged couple it peaked our interest in booking here for our reception.
Unfortunately our TV in the room didn't work but everything else was the perfect blend of peaceful and relaxing resulting in need to book again very soon.

Attended a wedding this weekend 14th Oct 2023 and had booked a 2 night stay.
On arrival at check out we were greeted with a smile and a warm welcome from the lady that checked us in. We were allicated room 10 on the ground floor in the annex. The room was spotlessly clean, spacious and warm.
Kettle with tea and coffee, flat screen tv, comfortable king size bed, double wardrobe and dressing table. Modern Bathroom with Bath and rainfall shower and lovely toiletries, Heated towel rail and fluffy towels.
A table was booked for our large party of 20 our evening meal was delicious and filling. The restaurant was very busy with a lovely atmosphere and the staff were friendly and attentive.
Breakfast is served 8.00 - 10.00 again a very warm welcome and a great Welsh breakfast with friendly service.
Without going into detail the wedding was a perfect day in beautiful surroundings.
We would like to thank the manager and all the staff for a fantastic weekend... Your staff are a real credit to The King Arthur Hotel.
Regards Ian and Estelle

Had heard good recommendations of this place so was disappointed when our steak arrived which we had asked to be 'well done' was completely pink inside and had blood running when cut. I know chef's don't think you should cook steak well done but if that's what a customer asks for and have paid for then they should oblige. Chips were like the dregs of leftover hard bits that had been in the fat for days, they were hard and crunchy , not pleasant. we should have said something at the time but sometimes you don't feel like making a fuss. On the plus side, desert, chocolate torte was great and service was very good.

Taken to this place by friends, parking was easy and judging by the cleanliness of the exterior coupled with a professional team of employees we experienced the perfect visit.

Ease of parking, a warm friendly welcome matched by the waitresses attentive service, plenty of out door seating, it was obvious this place enjoyed a slick discipline and care hard to find.

Reasonably priced bordering on cheap, the scampi and chips were as good as it gets, even though the table we were sat at was a good 50yards from the main building, our food was hot.

Highly recommend a visit.

The Gower has some of the best beaches and coastal scenery in Europe, though not the best weather. This hotel is highly recommended as rooms are clean and comfortable with good breakfasts and pleasant, competent staff. Evening meals are terrific and over three nights we worked our way round the menu. Steaks, meat pies but also vegan dishes such as celariac steak with black garlic risotto were very tasty and fairly priced. Desserts excellent too. Also loved the artwork by Arfo (?) in the breakfast/dining room. Dynamic still lifes!

As they do not allow dogs in the bar I would not class it as dog friendly. Lots of walkers do take their dogs and eat and drink but they must stay outside on the many tables to the front of the hotel.
